New generation Churreria, the traditional castizo renewed. It is one of the best churrerias of Madrid. Churros are a product of Arab influence: we serve to tell the foundation of Madrid by the Arabs: Madrid was founded as an Andalusian fortress, known as Mayrit, on the banks of the Manzanares River by Emir Muhammad I around the year 865. And its evolution and consecration as a capital through the monarchy and its influence: products like chocolate, a colonial product par excellence, and a symbol of class until the 19th century when it became popular Owned by a famous family loved by locals, who were in the past “The TV Clowns”.

5.00I cannot think of a better way to immerse myself into Spanish culture than this tour. It was 5 1/2 hours of food, drink, architecture, walking, meeting cooks, shop owners and just plain fun. There were only 7 of us with an enthusiastic guide so every little question was answered. Worth every penny.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who want to learn more about the local cuisine in Madrid.

5.00Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The history of the city, the food that was chosen and places we stopped were wonderful. The tour is very well thought out. Wear comfortable shoes! Come hungry.

5.00Andreina was an excellent guide and shared her knowledge of the local history and gastronomy. She took us through areas we wouldn’t have found on our own, and packed in so many special little stops and surprises throughout the tour. As a first time visitor to Madrid, she was able to get us away from the tourist spots and to see how madrileños live and eat. The tourist spots exceeded our expectations!

5.00This tour was created by people who know and truly love food in Madrid. The Culinary Backstreet team put an incredibly thoughtful adventure together. On this tour, you will experience things you would never know existed as a visitor to Madrid. If you are a local, you will discover new things. Each stop was amazing. I felt like I was on one of those travel TV shows where as a viewer, you wish you could experience the food and local flavors. I did not want the tour to end. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and professional. If I could give this tour 10 out of 5 stars I would. I have been on other food tours, and this was absolutely the best.
