"Exploring The Gullah Culture" is the only live presentation of its kind in the Lowcountry and a visitor favorite. Visit the critically acclaimed Black History In America exhibit on display in 9 original slave cabins, tour the plantation home, ride aboard a guided tractor tour across the entire 738 acres, and more. Come enjoy the setting in which many television shows and movies have been filmed.

Accessibility: All of the grounds are grass or hard compacted sand. Electric wheelchairs or motorized scooters work the best. The Plantation Mansion has approximately six steps to get inside and several steps from room to room. If the person is able to get into the Plantation Mansion and from room to room the tour guide can provide a chair for them to sit down on in each room. Please let them know that is what you would like upon being greeted by the tour guide. The brick slave cabins have two to three steps to get inside. However, once inside you will be able to see everything without having to walk too far. The Plantation Tractor Tour has approximately three to four steps to get into it. Our staff can help get the person onto the tractor ride if needed. Once on the tractor tour, riders remain seated for the duration of the thirty minute tour.

5.00Second visit to the plantation to make sure that we experienced all that the visit had to offer. The visit was very moving when you realize what our ancestors had to endure. The Gullah presentation was very informative.

5.00This was so fun and interesting. We have had a picture of the Avenue of the Oaks in our house for years and it is even more beautiful in person. The wagon ride was informative and the grounds were beautiful. We loved seeing places from favorite movies in person. If you have a Charleston Tour Pass this is a must do!

5.00A tour steeped in rich historical information is presented throughout the experience. My favorite time spent was during the Gullah presentation. We highly recommend taking time to visit the Boone Hall Plantation while in Charleston, South Carolina.

5.00The best part was the Gullah cultural experience. The story teller was outstanding, and held the attention of the entire assembled audience including a large tour group of middle school kids. The Avenue of Oaks is amazing. The other presentations were very informative. The main house is a nice tour, though I would have liked to see more of it. The wagon ride tour was a refreshing break from the heat. The stable tour seemed presented in a rather hurried manner powering through the script without any real care or interaction.
