The focal point of Zürich, and a favorite playground for tourists and locals is the long Lake Zürich. The entire shore is lined with promenades and parks, where local residents catch the sun, jog, picnic, and swim in the lake. Lake Zürich, also called Lake of Zürich is a Swiss lake extending southeast from the city of Zürich. It lies at an altitude of 1,332 feet (406 m) and has an area of about 34 square miles (88 square km) its extreme length is 18 miles (29 km), maximum breadth 2 1/2 miles, and maximum depth 469 feet. The Linth River flows into it and emerges as the Limmat. The greater portion of the lake is in the canton of Zürich, but 8 square miles are in Schwyz and 4 square miles in Sankt Gallen. The banks rise in gentle slopes, covered with vineyards and orchards, to hills with views of the Alps to the south.
Niederdorf

The Niederdorf area is one of the medieval streets and squares, a lively place to visit, with boutiques, restaurants, and cafés. This area was headquarters of the Lombard money-changers in the 14th and 15th centuries. There are many houses with rooms furnished in Renaissance style. On Spiegelgasse, at number 17, is a house where Lenin lived in 1917 The street Spiegelgasse runs east into the Neumarkt, where you'll find the Shoemakers' Guild House, now a theater.

After traveling from Paris to Zurich by private vehicle the previous day, we were initially unsure whether to visit Rhine Falls on the way or keep it for the next day. Looking back, we’re glad we chose to do it separately, as it allowed us to enjoy the trip in a much more relaxed way without feeling tired or rushed. The visit itself was wonderful. Punctual driver with a nice comfortable vehicle. Rhine Falls is truly impressive, and the boat ride made the experience even more enjoyable. One unexpected highlight was spotting a food truck near the falls selling Indian samosas something I definitely wasn’t expecting in Switzerland. As someone who enjoys Indian snacks, it was a very pleasant surprise and made the outing even more memorable. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable excursion, with a nice mix of beautiful scenery, good memories, and a few unexpected surprises along the way.

This was a very enjoyable outing during our Switzerland trip. We had been rushing from one place to another throughout the journey and kept talking about buying some Swiss souvenirs, but never found the right time. At Rhine Falls, we finally found a lovely souvenir shop where we bought the things we had been wanting Swiss knives, the famous Swiss cowbells, and a few small souvenirs to take back home. The visit to Rhine Falls itself was also memorable. Although we skipped the boat ride because my wife is not comfortable with water, we still thoroughly enjoyed seeing Europe’s largest waterfall up close. The sheer power and beauty of the falls made the trip absolutely worth it. Overall, it was a relaxed and memorable excursion for our family.
