As one of the only places in the world to whale watch year-round, Monterey Bay is abundant with a huge diversity of sea life, and is at the top of many things to do in Monterey. As a protected marine sanctuary rich with nutrients, the Monterey Bay Submarine Canyon thrives with a bounty of breathtaking wildlife including Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, Gray Whales, Blue Whales, Sperm Whales, Risso Dolphins, Long Beaked Common Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin, Dall’s Porpoise, Mola Mola aka Ocean Sunfish, Jellyfish, Sea Turtles, Sea Lions, Pelicans, Sea Otters and so much more! Board the 2 largest boats in the Monterey fleet the 110ft. Princess Monterey and the 100ft Atlantis Monterey. 5.00We saw so many whales, a few dolphins, and some sea lions. Great experience. I also really appreciated that they had a photographer taking pictures for free. That’s so helpful as a parent who’s trying to focus on spending time with my toddler and showing/looking for whales with her.

5.00Really great trip - mostly because we saw so many whales! We were lucky because the ocean was fairly calm, which made for an easier ride. Trip started with a full breach, then we saw a bunch of tail slaps. It was great. The tour guide gave helpful information and it was amplified by speaker on the boat. There were a lot of people waiting to board but the boat was not too crowded and we found seats. The crowd included kids through seniors. There are a bunch of whale watching tours that head out from the same area at the same time. We went to the wrong one at first and boarding instructions / where to meet details could be more clear. Make sure to get there early to give yourself time to jump from one kiosk to another if you make the same mistake! Most exciting was the variety of wildlife we saw - humpback, blue, and finback whales, and two kinds of dolphins!

5.00Amazing!! Saw blue whales and humpback whales! Boat is large, wasn’t crowded, and didn’t feel rushed. Crew was great. Upgrade gives you freedom to move between lower and upper decks. Highly recommend!

5.00Wonderful trip. Saw 3 different species of whales. Naturalist narrator was very knowledgeable and answered questions in detail toward the end of the trip. Was not crowded, so everyone could see and enjoy. Inside seating was good for those who were chilly outside. Great trip; highly recommend. (I do wish they had seating while waiting for older tourists.)

5.00The trip was amazing . We got to see a Dolphins, Sea Lions, and whales. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.

5.00Much to see & eat along pier. Arrive early to find parking. Bring sweater, beanie, mitts, etc. to stay warm, you may get wet when in front of boat lower deck. Our 3:30pm departure time was very cold trip, mid-June. We saw Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, Grey Whale, Fin Whale and dolphins that swim right along boat. First 1-1.5 hours nothing, then all of the sudden there were sightings all around boat. Very cool to see with 7 year old son. Complimtary seasick pills for adults & ginger candy for kids given prior to departure. Several passengers sick once boat stopped for viewing. Crew was nice & very informative on Monterrey Bay Marine life. Total trip 3 hours.

5.00This was well ran with friendly staff. They gave you instructions as you waited, check in was quick and everyone was helpful. We were given a lot of great information while going out about the birds and other wild life. And we saw ORCAs! It was an amazing experience and we definitely recommend. They did their best to find whales. Wear layers, take medication to prevent seasickness (if you are unsure, take it) and enjoy!
Don't forget that barf bag.

4.00Was fun and beautiful day, employees all very nice, just for future reminder for those that have kids make sure they ask for a barf bag cause when the parents are all excited for their first time experience we tend to forget about something important so the experience and memory ain't about cleaning up the mess......lol but had fun.
