Chateaux de Lastours
In the morning discover the Lastours Castles, breathtaking view from the belvedere. The ruined castles sit on a rocky spur above the village of Lastours, isolated by the deep valleys of the Orbiel and Grésilhou rivers. (we do not do the hiking)
After this first stop we will go to a small vineyard for a wine tasting just before lunch. You will meet dedicated wine growers and oenologists, learn their different production methods and taste excellent wines. The lunch will take place in a typical French restaurant, the local food is delightful.

5.00Olivia Gotti is absolutely wonderful! She has so much insight into the places on the tour and brings all of it to life. We took two tours with her, this one to Lastours and the tour including montsegur, and both were so much fun. You get to see the beautiful countryside of France and the lovely small villages, and learn about the history of the places. If you are considering the tour you should absolutely book it. These two days are the highlight of our trip!

5.00A lovely taste of the south of france: a heady mix of culture, good food and wine tasting. We learned about the Cathars; Minerves was a great example of a medieval village with the added bonus of a river-carved tunnel which provided unexpected entertainment for the kids by way of building a cairn.
