When your cruise ship docks in Skagway, enjoy a shore excursion to see the best sights of the city and take in the views from the majestic White Pass Summit area. Following the Klondike Highway by mini-bus, you'll have the opportunity to photograph the Gold Rush Cemetery, Skagway Scenic Overlook and the "Welcome to Alaska" sign as well as other scenic stops along the highway portion. Our mini-buses are smaller than other similar tour options with average size of 24 passengers with a full tour. This allows greater interaction with your guide as well as number of photo stops we make. Our guides will take great photos of your groups for lasting memories!
All passengers must have a valid passport.

Original valid passport is required to bring on the day of travel (no copies).
For non-US/Canadian citizens USA Visa may be required (no copies).
Children 15 or younger must bring a Passport (or if USA or Canadian citizen can bring an original/certified birth certificate-no copies). Children 16 and older and all adults must have a valid Passport.
Not scooter accessible. No battery operated equipment can be loaded onto buses. Collapsible wheelchairs or Walkers can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark. Passenger must be able to walk some and boarding bus requires a few steps. YOU MUST INFORM OPERATOR IF ARE BRINGING A COLLAPSIBLE WHEELCHAIR OR WALKER.
Pick up location: Look for a representative holding a FRONTIER EXCURSIONS sign. Please be 15 minutes early. Please bring your Passports. For Broadway and Ore dock, meet off the pier where the dock meets land just outside the security gate next to a large parking area. For the Railroad dock, there are two docking positions. For ships tendering to the small boat harbor, walk up the ramp after disembarking the tender and look to your left for Zone B meeting area. If you are taking a shuttle bus off the pier from your ship, once you get off the shuttle bus look to your right for Zone B. Zone B is near Skagway Fish Co.
At the time of booking, traveler must provide their cruise ship name. If not on a cruise ship please contact operator for meeting instructions.

5.00I had wanted to do the train excursion, but with five people it didn’t fit the budget. I found this tour which, while it didn’t have the romantic train aspect, was a very good tour for much less $$$, taking us into the mountains and across the border with a nice narrative about what we were seeing and some history of the area. We learned about the terrain and some history of Skagway. We had a few photo stops including an option to visit an old goldrush cemetery and a short hike to a waterfall for those who wanted it. Our driver, Beverly, picked us up right at the ship, was entertaining and informative, happy to answer questions and graciously took photos of all 17 of us at the border/Welcome to Alaska sign. We would recommend it as a budget minded option to see the area and get a little background of Skagway.

5.00Long trip. Plan a couple hours. Price was a tad high. The atmosphere was decent, a few other passengers brought the vibe down. There were a lot of people on this trip, but well spaced. Our guides were great!!! We got to see some mountain goats and the rail ride was amazing, the views even better!

5.00This tour was a great way to see what Skagway has to offer. Our tour guide Andrew, was amazing. He gave so many facts of the area and wasn’t boring for even a second. He recited poetry about the gold rush and even sang us the Alaska state song in his beautiful voice. We loved the gold rush cemetery and falls beyond.

5.00We initially chose this excursion because it was so much more affordable than the white pass train, but we ended up being so glad we did! We loved being able to stop at the scenic overlooks to take it all in, and we got a picture at the welcome to Alaska sign! Our tour guide Andrew was entertaining and told all sorts of stories about the gold rush and various facts about the area.

Andrew was knowledgeable, personable, and full of memorable local history and Gold Rush stories rather than just canned facts. The pacing was great, photo stops were well chosen, and the small group made the experience feel personal. Highly recommended if you want a scenic overview of Skagway with a guide who clearly knows and loves the area.
