  Wow! What a fantastic adventure with Glacier Wind Charters! To be honest, I wasn’t sure we would actually see any whales but we saw quite a few! This charter is family owned and they really care about your experience . Everyone is so professional and knowledgeable. They have top notch boats and they make sure that you have the best experience. They explained the area and knew exactly where to go and I felt very safe the entire time. I can’t say enough positive things about Glacier Wind Charters.

  This was a fantastic excursion for our day at port in Hoonah. We got to see whales bubble feeding right off the back of the boat and grizzlies in the shore. This is a family run business and they do a great job all around. Boat was clean and comfortable and everyone was so nice and informative. Would highly recommend them.

  Hands down, THE BEST TOUR we have ever taken! Family-owned business that care about what they do and how they do it. We had an experience of a lifetime watching a pod of whales bubble netting, breaching, hearing them “talk”… so grateful for such an outstanding and memorable day with Glacier Wind❤️

  Our family had an absolutely AMAZING tour with Glacier Wind Charters! From the 1st call to book the tour, until the final drop-off, this family run business did a fantastic job and we were so pleased! Captain Casey and his crewmate Riley were super friendly, very knowledgeable and worked to give us such a memorable afternoon! We saw both orcas and humpbacks (got to see one playing for awhile which resulted in seeing him breach several times!!) We also got to see sea lions fighting for salmon and a cute sea otter as well. Would highly recommend this family run tour!

  Ten out of ten experience! Family run business that give you an excellent adventure. We saw a dozen humpback whales bubble fishing. It was a once in a lifetime experience. Nice boat and small group so everyone could see.

  We recently completed four whale watching tours within the past 5 weeks with Glacier Wind Charters. Our total excursions with the company now stand at 16. Why do we consistently choose Glacier Wind Charters? It is simple - this family-owned and operated business has continuously given us unforgettable memories that we will always treasure. Teresa (communications/reservation expert) , Cpts. Shawn, Casey and Kyle, along with crew members Riley, and Kaytlynne all worked together to ensure that we had the best whale watching experience possible. During our combined four trips, we saw an amazing display of marine life: Orcas, humpback whales, dolphins, eagles, sea lions, otters and even whales bubble net feeding. At times, there was so much activity that we did not know which way to turn. The two beautiful boats that we toured on had lots of indoor seating and viewing space both inside and out. We never had to scramble to find a spot to capture the magic. Thank you all for making our time with you special.   Glacier Wind Charters is highly recommended by our group, A family run business with two smaller newer type boats which includes everything for a great cruise excursion. Their boats are specially designed for visibility and viewing. We followed their easy & detailed directions from the ship to the meeting location, meeting up with Theresa (Mom), for the drive to Honnah where we met, Captain Casey (Son), for our adventure. Our group of 14 boarded a new, clean, comfortable boat with plenty of space for seating, visibility and moving around the boat. Hot Chocolate was served on the boat. Casey shared his great background knowledge on the wildlife and whales along with chasing the whales to make sure everyone had a sighting. Our day was one of low activity, but all the Captains/Residents share their sightings to help everyone enjoy a good experience. It ended with, Shawn (Dad) driving us back just outside of the port for a local stop/shopping and a short walk along the boardwalk back to the ship. *Definitely preferred the small boat compared to the larger ones we saw on the water. * A great day full of memories and pictures of Sea Lions, Orcas and Killer whales. * They shared their binoculars, but recommend bringing your own. * Don’t hesitate book with Glacier Wind Charters, now!

  This is truly a family operated business. The couple is in the process of handing it over to their two sons who have been doing this for years! Email response was super swift. Kyle, our guide, was very informative. He works get people near wildlife without bothering them. He was able to get us close to see Orcas. One male orca came about 20 feet from our boat as we were floating there, looking. It was amazing! We saw lots of humpback whales, sea otters, porpoises, and sea lions. This is a highly recommended tour. We'd definitely do this again! Thanks for the great time!! Well worth it.

  We had a fantastic time on our trip with Glacier Wind Charters. This is an exceptionally well run family business, and we feel very fortunate to have met Shawn & Teresa and their son Casey. The boat was designed perfectly for a smaller group, with excellent visibility. With Shawn & Casey’s background and knowledge, we learned a great deal about whales and their behaviors. Casey also dropped a microphone in the water, and we were able to listen to the Humpback’s as they were bubble feeding. We saw Orca’s as well, which was a bonus! If you are looking for an exceptional experience with a tour operated by wonderful people with first-rate boats, Glacier Wind is the one!

  This was an amazing experience. I booked this as an excursion during our Alaskan cruise. We loved being with a small group vs a big boat jammed with people. Shawn and Casey were great to get us close to the whales just by watching the water and listening for the whales “talk”. We got to see a pod bubble feeding right out the back of the boat. This is a family run business that takes pride in what they do. I would highly recommend them.
