Marrakech
Your adventure begins at 7:00 AM when your private driver and tour companion picks you up directly from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. A clean, comfortable air-conditioned private vehicle is waiting just for your group — no shared buses, no strangers. Today covers approximately 350 km and around 5 hours of driving, broken into comfortable segments with stops every 1 to 1.5 hours for panoramic views, a coffee or a stretch. You will never feel rushed — this is your journey at your pace.
High Atlas Mountains
Your first drive takes you south from Marrakech into the High Atlas Mountains — approximately 90 km and 1.5 hours of some of the most dramatic scenery in Africa. Snow-capped peaks, deep gorges and ancient Berber villages cling to the cliffsides as your vehicle climbs higher. Your companion shares stories of the Berber people who have called these mountains home for centuries. A comfort stop is made along the way for coffee, fresh air and photos.
Tizi n Tichka
At 2,260 meters above sea level — one of the highest mountain roads in North Africa — your driver stops here for 20 minutes. Step out, breathe the mountain air and take in sweeping panoramic views stretching across the entire Atlas range in every direction. Your companion tells you about the ancient caravan routes that once crossed these mountains carrying gold and salt from sub-Saharan Africa.
Ait Ben Haddou
After the pass you descend for approximately 60 km and 1 hour toward the desert plains. You arrive at Ait Benhaddou — a UNESCO World Heritage Site kasbah standing since the 11th century. Your certified local guide leads you through the ancient village for a 90-minute walking tour, bringing to life the history of the families who still live here and pointing out the exact locations where Gladiator, Game of Thrones and The Mummy were filmed. Entrance fees are fully included.
Ouarzazate
Just 30 km and 30 minutes from Ait Benhaddou lies Ouarzazate — the Hollywood of Africa. Lawrence of Arabia, Babel and Kingdom of Heaven were all filmed here. Your companion takes you through the city for approximately 45 minutes. Lunch stop recommended at one of the excellent local restaurants your companion knows personally. Optional visit to Atlas Film Studios — the largest film studios in the world.
Boumalne Dades
Your final 40 km and 40-minute drive brings you into the Dades Valley as the sun sets over the rose-coloured mountains. You arrive in Boumalne Dades and check in to your comfortable 3 to 4 star hotel. Dinner is included and your companion joins you for the evening meal, giving you a preview of tomorrow's spectacular journey through the gorges and deep into the Sahara. Rest well — Day 2 is unforgettable.
Luxury Berber desert camp in Merzouga. Private tent, en-suite facilities, candle-lit decor and stunning Sahara views.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
A fresh Moroccan breakfast to start the day — warm bread, honey, argan oil, eggs and mint tea. Fuel for a big day ahead.
DINNER
Dinner
Dinner under the stars at your luxury desert camp. Traditional Moroccan feast with live Berber music around the fire.
Dades Gorges
After a fresh Moroccan breakfast at your hotel, your driver and companion is ready and waiting at 8:00 AM. Your first stop is just minutes away — the dramatic Dades Gorge where canyon walls of red and orange rock rise sharply on both sides. Walk deep into the gorge for 45 minutes, photograph the incredible rock formations and let your companion tell you the stories of the Berber families who have farmed this valley for centuries.
El Kelaa M'gouna
Driving west through the Valley of Roses — approximately 50 km and 1 hour — the air changes completely. Every spring this valley explodes in pink roses harvested for rosewater and rose oil. You stop here for a genuine Berber family visit — try on traditional Berber clothing, get a henna tattoo from the family and share fresh mint tea together. Your companion translates and makes everyone feel completely at home. This is the real Morocco.
Todra Gorge
Continuing east approximately 60 km and 1 hour you reach Todra Gorge — one of the most jaw-dropping landscapes in all of Morocco. Canyon walls rise 300 meters straight up on both sides, so narrow in places you can almost touch both walls at once. Walk through the gorge for 1 hour with your companion. Local families sell fresh orange juice and handicrafts at the entrance. A comfort stop for coffee is available here.
Erfoud
Approximately 100 km and 1.5 hours from Todra through open desert plains you reach Erfoud — the fossil capital of Morocco. A comfort stop here for lunch, recommended by your companion at the best local restaurant. Famous for ancient marine fossils embedded in local stone — browse the fossil market for souvenirs if you wish.
Merzouga
You arrive at Merzouga in the late afternoon as the Erg Chebbi dunes turn gold in the desert sun. The largest dunes in Morocco rise over 150 meters above the desert floor. Check in to your traditional luxury Berber desert camp — private tent with en-suite facilities, candle-lit decoration, handwoven rugs and breathtaking Sahara views. As the sun sets your camel trek or quad bike adventure begins deep into the golden dunes. Tonight — a Moroccan feast under a sky full of stars with live Berber music around the fire. This is the night you will never forget.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Rise before dawn for a traditional Berber breakfast at camp bread, honey, mint tea and the Sahara sunrise as your view.
Erg Chebbi
Wake before dawn at 5:30 AM for one of the most breathtaking moments of your life — watching the Sahara desert turn gold in the morning light. Your Berber guide leads you up the dunes on foot or by camel to catch the sunrise from the top. The silence, the colours and the endless golden sand stretching to the horizon is something you will carry with you forever. Traditional Berber breakfast back at camp after.
Rissani
Approximately 20 km and 30 minutes from Merzouga lies Rissani — one of the oldest caravan cities in Morocco and the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty that rules Morocco today. Your companion takes you through the ancient souk where locals trade spices, leather and fresh produce just as they have for centuries.
Draa Valley
Driving west through open desert plains — approximately 200 km and 3 hours with comfort stops every 1.5 hours — you enter the magnificent Draa Valley. The longest river valley in Morocco stretches before you lined with endless palmeries, ancient kasbahs and Berber villages. Your companion points out the most beautiful viewpoints and shares the history of this ancient trading route.
Ouarzazate
A final comfort stop in Ouarzazate for lunch at your companion's favourite local restaurant. Stretch your legs, browse the medina if you wish and prepare for the final mountain crossing back to Marrakech.
Tizi N' Test
One final crossing of the magnificent High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Just as breathtaking on the return journey — your companion stops for photos and one last look at the dramatic mountain landscape before descending back toward Marrakech.
Marrakech
You arrive back in Marrakech in the early evening — your driver drops you off directly at your hotel or riad. If your accommodation is inside the medina, your driver meets you at the nearest accessible point. Three days, three unforgettable experiences. Welcome back.

Visit Morocco Together put together a three day private desert tour that felt personal from start to finish. Our driver and guide Bob treated us like friends not clients. The UNESCO site of Ait Ben Haddou was a highlight I was not prepared for, ancient Berber architecture rising out of the desert landscape like something from another world. The Berber family we had lunch with in the Atlas Mountains on the way back was one of those moments that travel is actually for. The luxury Sahara camp with camel trekking at sunrise completed everything perfectly.

We nearly did a group tour to save money. So glad we did not. The private 3 day Sahara desert tour from Marrakech with Visit Morocco Together was worth every cent. Our guide Aziz knew every back road, every local tea house, every story behind every ruin. Ait Ben Haddou UNESCO kasbah in the afternoon light was breathtaking. The nomad family we visited near Merzouga was something completely unexpected and completely real. The luxury camp in the dunes at night with the Gnawa music around the fire was the best evening of the entire trip.

I booked the 3 day private Sahara tour from Marrakech through Visit Morocco Together and it exceeded every expectation. Bob was waiting for us early morning and from the first minute the energy was right. We stopped at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that stopped us completely in our tracks. The drive through the Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains was stunning. The luxury desert camp in Merzouga was beyond anything I imagined, real bed, hot shower, dinner under the stars. The camel trek at sunset was the moment I will carry with me forever. Three days, perfectly paced, zero stress.

Bob is not a guide he is a storyteller. Berber pizza cooked on an open fire in the middle of nowhere, the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou in the afternoon light, a camel called Hassan who had very strong opinions about everything. The luxury camp in the Sahara was the best night of the whole trip. Do not think about it just book it.

We took a private tour with Visit Morocco Together, and I can say without a doubt that it was the most beautiful travel experience in recent years. We departed from Marrakech, crossed the High Atlas mountains, admired the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou at sunset, hiked through the Dadès and Todra Gorges, and concluded with a night in the Sahara desert in Merzouga, including a camel ride, a tent camp, and a starry sky. But what was the moment that drove the whole group wild? The dunes on an ATV at sunset — speed, red sand, incredible colors, a pure adrenaline rush that we did not expect. Every transfer was punctual, every hotel was carefully chosen, zero stress for the whole group. Khalid and his team know exactly how to provide an authentic experience of Morocco. We will return. 🇲🇦🏜️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I booked this through Visit Morocco Together after reading the reviews and honestly they did not oversell it. Ait Ben Haddou at golden hour, the UNESCO kasbah walls glowing like something from another century. The luxury camp in the dunes with real beds and hot showers in the middle of the Sahara. The camel ride at sunset while the sky turned every shade of orange. Our guide Youssef knew every road, every story, every hidden stop. I have done a lot of trips. This one sits alone.

Youssef picked us up in Marrakech, and from the very first moment, we knew that this trip was going to be special. Ait Ben Haddou at sunset is something that cannot be described in words, a place that seems taken from another era. The Berber family that prepared lunch for us in the Atlas Mountains was one of the most authentic moments I have experienced while traveling. And the night in the luxury camp in the Sahara, with the dunes around and that sky full of stars, was simply perfect. Bob, thank you for everything.

Bob accompanied us for three days, and I could not have asked for a better guide. The stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, left us speechless; those ancient walls in the late afternoon looked golden. Lunch with the Berber family in the Atlas Mountains was the most authentic moment of the trip. And the luxury camp in the Sahara with the camel ride at sunset is something my seven-year-old daughter still tells everyone about. We will definitely return.

Bob was absolutely incredible! He took us through hidden alleys in the Medina that we never would have found on our own. Riding through Marrakech on the motorbike felt so authentic and exciting. Bob's knowledge of the city and its history made everything come alive. Thank you so much visit Morocco together
