Flamingo lagoon

Our tour takes us through the Ramsar Convention Walvis Bay lagoon wetlands, where up to 250,000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time to time: Pelicans, flamingos, plovers, sandpipers, and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tire air pressure and discuss the many birds.

Magnificent wide open spaces as the dunes get closer to the sea. We enter where dunes meet sea on a narrow strip of beach. Awesome dune views and walks await us. We take a stomach-tingling roller coaster ride to the Sandwich harbor viewpoint. The bay is at your feet, surrounded by the Nara bush. Sandy sandbanks are awash in the bay and the green sea with blue sky and red dunes is absolutely awesome. We take a dune drive to the best views, searching for animals in the desert and looking for a unique picnic spot. Lunch with a dune view, quiet, very quiet, only us around. We have time for dune and beach walks. Our route takes us through the dunes and a game drive where we might see ostriches, oryx, jackals, and springbok. On the beach the seals may be sleeping or playing, and if we are lucky, we will see dolphins and whales. The route is back along the shores with thousands of birds. Sadly, we end up in Walvis Bay. We tank up and air up and take you back to your hotel.
