Our yachts, Gringo and Miranda, are moored in the port of Calheta. We sail out to meet the local species of cetaceans, assisted by a spotter on-land while guided by a professional crew of 2. From there on, the world is at your feet!
Depending on the weather conditions, you can decide to sail along the coast, to swim in the ocean with goggles and fins, to sunbathe and relax with a fresh drink.
Or, witness the magic of the Sunset from a privileged place, Choose an evening private cruise and experience the ocean in a different way!
We can accommodate 5 guests for private charters on Miranda, 12 guests for private charters on Gringo. Choose the options that suits your expectations!

This activity is not suited to guests over 110 kg / 242 pounds, unless prior arrangement is made with our team and a suitable alternative has been proposed and acknowledged by our Captain / Crew.
6/6.30 pm or 7/7.30 pm departure time: Sunset, Snorkeling and Sparkling wine, NO whale watching
Guests should understand their duty to exercise reasonable care for their own safety while boarding, exiting and being on-board the yacht.

5.00Wonderful private boat trip to see whales and dophins, and we managed to see both plus flying fish and a couple of turtles! We got LOADS of photos sent to us after, and also plenty of information about the animals throughout the trip. We could have snorkelled as well, but opted out as the water was a bit too cold for us! Thank you so much to Sergio and Glauco, we had a great time.

5.00Wonderful experience. Manny and Martin provided us with excellent explanations about the marine wildlife and the different species encountered. They were very attentive. Warm welcome upon arrival at the agency. Excellent work by the spotter Arthur, which allowed us to observe a group of dolphins that lingered around the boat for a while. An excellent memory, I recommend it 100%. Stephan

5.00This was the most amazing experience and one my husband and I will never forget. Right from booking with Rosa to meeting Julia and Rui and leaving port on Miranda. Both Julia and Rui had a great knowledge and we were all incredibly fortunate to see around 15 dolphins, flying fish and sea birds. Everything was catered for fresh towels, refreshments and Rui took pictures which where sent to my email to download. We were also able to stop for a swim. just incredible. Brilliant experience so worth the money and would definitely recommend. Thank you On Tales for creating the BEST experience ever. Loved it !!

5.00We were very lucky to see a finwhale feeding and several daulphines of different kinds. But we also were hosted by two very nice and polite young people (host and captain). Many thnks to them for an unforgettable afternoon. And not to forget the receptionists. Very kind. Many thanks for making it possible.

5.00We had a wonderful experience on the Miranda with Sergio and Julia. We booked the private tour and it was perfect for us. Julia was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and we really enjoyed our time with both her and Sergio.

5.00On Tales is a great operator and provides fun, lighthearted atmosphere with a lot of green wine, swimming, dolphin chasing (sadly for us, it was a mid-day and we were not lucky. but neither were others). Beautiful cruise, very good boat, excellent staff and oh God, their sunscreen is the best ever and I am still looking back thinking that I should have had asked what make it is....
This is sincerely making memories! What a beautiful experience

5.00We are experienced trotters, and sea and boating have few surprises for us, or so we thought before we set foot on the Gringo. I don't even know where to start, but at the beginning. Reception, friendly, human, competent, but above all very sweet and kind. A beautiful boat with a fantastic Captain and second mate. Sailing, within five minutes ten of the most beautiful mammals in the sea, the dolphin, spotted by a spotter on land. In one word, fantastic!! We could almost touch them. Then a very nice tour along the terrible beautiful coast of madeira, there the second mate (former top table tennis player) developed into a true storyteller, breathless we hung on his lips, you want this as a guest! And yes we were, we were really guests! I highly recommend this cruise, worth the money. Docking, we got another memento and we were left with very nice memories. Dear people, thank you for this, we have become a bit more wise and world wise again. Greetings Remco, Femke, Anne, and Dave
