This 5-hour tour from Durango includes entry and a NPS ranger-led visit to Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America. Spend about 45 minutes up close while learning how the Ancestral Puebloans lived more than 700 years ago. Travel with an archaeologist-trained guide who brings the history, culture, and landscape to life with clear, engaging insight. Round-trip transportation is included, with departure from our Durango office at 360 S Camino Del Rio Suite 200. Travel time is about 50 minutes each way. If time allows, additional viewpoints may be included. Space is limited, so bring only small personal items. Light snacks and water are fine. This half-day experience focuses on Cliff Palace and offers a strong overview of Mesa Verde.

5.00My husband and I went on our anniversary to Mesa Verde. Wow, wow and another wow! Our two guides, Alex from Durango Rivertrippers and Brian, Forest Ranger, Mesa Verde both were full of knowledge! Alex, driving us to Mesa Verde from Durango was very pleasant and knew the area very well. Brian, Forest Ranger was amazing on his knowledge and presentation to our group. Mesa Verde is an amazing place full of history and beauty, can't say enough aws to it!!
Mesa Verde is a sight to see!

5.00Alex drove us to the views of Mesa Verde. We joined a Park Ranger (Satchel) who is a Hopi Indian and he gave us the tour of the Cliff Palace. We learned about the inhabitants of this area and how they lived in the cliffs. So educational and gave us an appreciation of what it takes to live off the land. They do caution you about the stairs that you need to climb down and up. We had a great day and Alex did a great job answering our questions.

5.00Our tour was great. Molly was a terrific tour guide. Unfortunately our ranger tour thru the cliff dwellings was cancelled due to storms. Molly made the best of the situation for us. She had a strong knowledge of the park so she took us to see things that weren’t normally on the tour. All in all it was a great tour. I would highly recommend.

5.00Jeremy was an awesome tour guide who went out of his way to make our experience enjoyable!! He made an extra stop a a wonderful lookout, gave us a real sense of the history of the ancestral Pueblo people,and the area, and even gave us several excellent restaurant and Durango sightseeing opportunities!! Can’t say enough god things about the entire experience!!! He was awesome!!

5.00Jeremy was our guide. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He took us to High Point at Mesa Verde which has beautiful views then we did the Cliff Palace tour with a Park Ranger. A great experience that we will never forget.
