Praia dos Estudantes
Praia dos Estudantes is a beach near the centre of Lagos. It is located right next to Praia da Batata. Praia dos Estudantes is known for its Roman style bridge right on the beach. Praia dos Estudantes is a small beach. Literally, Praia dos Estudantes means Student Beach. Additionally this beach is sometimes also known as Praia da Formosa. The beach is surrounded by rock formations, which extend into the sea and shelter the beach from strong winds. Praia dos Estudantes actually consists of two sides. The northern part is where you arrive on the beach. You can go to the southern part via a direct tunnel. On this part of the beach you can find the famous Roman style bridge. The Roman style bridge connects two rock formations. This bridge is the most unique feature of Estudantes beach. It used to be part of the fortress of Pinhão, which doesn’t exist anymore. Nowadays, the bridge attracts plenty of photographers to Praia dos Estudantes.

5.00Our Viator boat tour with Rui and Lagos Boat Tours crew was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Rui was an incredible storyteller with wonderful knowledge of the history of the area, which made the entire experience even more meaningful and memorable. He was also an exceptionally skilled boatman, expertly guiding us through the caves and bringing us amazingly close to the rock formations in a way that felt both exciting and safe. The scenery was breathtaking, and the entire crew was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the tour. It truly was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. One tip: bring a light jacket, and if you are sitting in the front row, be prepared to possibly get wet — a towel may definitely come in handy!

5.00Wonderful experience seeing the rock formations close and personal. Went through a few caves, saw natural skylights, saw all the beaches on the way to ponta da piedade, heard history, saw sunset. Take a jacket, cold and windy when speeding back.

5.00We absolutely loved the tour! We got to explore so many caves from unique angles and really appreciated seeing them from a different perspective. Just a heads-up—definitely bring a windbreaker, as it gets windy out there!

5.00We booked the sunset tour at Rui for the second time and it was just great again. The explanations were understandable in several languages and also very entertaining. Even the smallest caves were visited with great certainty, even if you yourself had the feeling that it did not fit. We felt safe and in good hands at all times. Enough time for photos was also available especially at sunset. Would book again at any time.

5.00The Captain of the boat was very knowledgeable about the area and really took the time to show us every possible cave available. He also spoke various other languages including, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. We highly recommend this tour to everyone.
