Temple of the Emerald Buddha
The Emerald Buddha (Phra Kaew Morakot) is the most important Buddha image in Thailand, cast from green jade. It was discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434 inside a collapsed stupa. Over time, it was moved through Lampang, Chiang Mai, and Lopburi, and in 1784 King Rama I brought it to Bangkok, where it is enshrined at Wat Phra Kaew in the Grand Palace. Highly revered, the Emerald Buddha is dressed in seasonal gold robes, which the King changes three times a year, symbolizing both religious devotion and the protection of Thailand.
The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace was constructed together with the founding of Bangkok in 1782 when King Rama 1 ascended to the throne and founded a new dynasty. The Grand Palace is very important as it used to be the palladium of the state. It was used for both the royal residence and the administrative center of the country in the government system of absolute monarchy. Today, the palace is used just for ceremonials. The architectural plan of this palace was almost identical in every detail to the Grand Palace of the former capital of Ayutthaya (about 600 years ago) because the King wanted to recreate the glory of the city as it was in the past. So it was completely first built in traditional Thai style. However, at various periods, the influences from other nations affect to the architecture in Thailand in different reigns such as the Chinese elements introduced by King Rama 3 in the early 19th century and the western building style introduced by King Rama 5 in the late 19th century.

5.00Peter made our Bangkok trip unforgettable. He was knowledgeable but also very warm and easy to talk to. The Grand Palace was even more beautiful than pictures online. The Reclining Buddha temple was one of the highlights because of the peaceful feeling inside. The Temple of Dawn had amazing details everywhere you looked. Peter shared many interesting facts but also kept the tour light and fun. The whole day was very smooth and well managed. Great experience from beginning to end.

5.00Preecha was such a kind and caring guide. He always checked if we needed water or wanted a short break because the weather was very hot that day. The Grand Palace was absolutely stunning and full of history. The Reclining Buddha temple was huge and so beautiful in real life. I also loved visiting the Temple of Dawn because the design was so different from other temples. Preecha made everything easy and stress free for us. I would definitely book another tour with him again.

5.00Athens was one of the nicest tour guides I have ever met. He spoke clearly and explained things in a very interesting but easy way. The Grand Palace was breathtaking and definitely a must visit in Bangkok. The Reclining Buddha temple had such a relaxing atmosphere and the giant Buddha was incredible to see in person. The Temple of Dawn was so unique and beautiful. Athens made sure we had enough time at every stop and never made us feel rushed. Very professional service and a really enjoyable day overall.

5.00Alex was fantastic from start to finish. She had a great sense of humor and made the tour feel personal instead of rushed. I really enjoyed learning about Thai culture while visiting the Grand Palace. The Reclining Buddha temple was impressive and peaceful at the same time. The Temple of Dawn was absolutely beautiful especially by the river area. Alex also helped take many great photos for my family. Everything was organized perfectly and we never had to worry about anything during the day.
