Join us for an interesting morning walking tour that will dive you into the history, the art and also the food culture of our fascinating city. This experience is a perfect introduction to the city that you will discover from different points of view. We look forward to letting you experience a chill-out tour seen from a local perspective.

This is not mainly a food tour, it is a walking tour to discover the city of Lucca under many aspects: art, history, traditions and food culture (food tastings are included)
Children are considered only if under 12 and they will have a children menu
This tour takes place with every weather conditions and it will be confirmed also with the rain

Our foodie experience starts at the train station and in a few steps, we’ll reach the outstanding walls: here your guide will introduce you to Lucca, its history and its people. We will rise till the top of the fortification and we will enjoy a short stroll on the popular pedestrian promenade: You can admire gorgeous urban vistas of the historic centre and the surrounding landscapes, listening to interesting stories and funny anecdotes under the shade of ancient trees.

After a pleasant walk we’ll need to relax and taste the first Lucca-style breakfast in a glamorous pastry shop! You will discover the delicious taste of our cakes, biscuits and sweets paired with an Italian espresso or cappuccino (in certain times of the year, breakfast can be replaced by gelato as a final stop). You will learn about Italian breakfast or gelato traditions and the importance we give to this ritual moment of the day.

5.00Excellent tour and great food. Chiara is a wonderful guide. We walked all around and throughout Lucca as she told us about its history, culture and much, much more. We had three great stops for refreshments and food. Very informative and interesting.

5.00We had a really great morning with Claudia. She is knowledgeable, interesting and lively, but also accommodating to members of our group of four. We were not at the correct meeting point and she came to us rather than making us find her, which we appreciated greatly. She was very generous with her time and expertise. We would certainly recommend this tour of beautiful and interesting Lucca.

5.00Our guided tour ended up being very personalised for just the two of us… our guide was very informed relaxed and took the time to understand what we wanted from the tour. Included a stop for coffee & cake (Italian breakfast) and finishing with refreshments & a bite of food. Sara explained architecture & history as we strolled through the streets of the medieval old town. Not rushed … would recommend !!

5.00When booking this tour, you should request antobertolani! She made Lucca’s history come alive. Our group of four found her to be very knowledgeable and engaging. We wish we had another day with her. She went above and beyond to paint a picture of the layers of history in Lucca. She even shared dining recommendations and shopping tips.
