Federico was outstanding for our tour of the Jeronimos Monastery. He was so knowledgeable of the history of the beautiful building and able to put it in the context of the history of Portugal itself. We were fortunate to go off season and had a small group. We talked a bit during the tour and found out he has his Ph. D in history. It’s no wonder he had so much to tell us. If we go back to that area, we would certainly request another tour of other places from him.

Federico P was an AMAZING tour guide. He was intelligent, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history and culture of Lisbon. He knew how to navigate Jeronimos Monastery well and made sure we saw everything. He provided us with great recommendations for food and attractions in the area. Federico was easily the best tour guide we had for the entire trip.

Great tour with Camilla. Very patient and informative. The monastery is beautiful. The stained glass in the church is stunning. Learned much more with guide then if we had done it alone.

Tour guide didn’t seem knowledgeable and the headsets kept breaking down. Also after seeing the statue she told us the other place we were to walk to was closed and ended the tour

Visited Jeronomios Monestary on 19 September 2025. Medium-sized group ~25 persons. Our tour guide was Federico P from Cooltours Lisbon. He was wonderful. Very engaging, thorough and has a passion for the historical site. He will definitely be a highlight of our trip to Portugal, and probably one of the best tour guides we have experienced. Our tour lasted approximately two hours. Meet at 9am, tour begins at 930am, see the inside of the Monastery and the church following the tour guide with audio assist (headphones provided). Some tips - queue is currently to the right of the main entrance. Bring your own headphones (with head jack) - the tour operator provides them onsite but they are one time use only (unneeded waste) and not the most comfortable. Beware there is no place to sit on this tour, as the monastery/church doesn’t allow seating on plentiful benches and pews. Also only bathroom stop was upstairs near the beginning of the tour.

An hour of queuing in the sun, with 36 degrees, despite the fact that we had already bought the ticket online. Impossible not to think about sheltering tourists under temporary shelters..... my heartbroken husband fortunately did not feel bad, he remained in queue with us despite having the right to priority access which however was not marked. After an hour in the sun I find myself with burnt shoulders despite 50+ protection. When you enter you are prevented from even sitting on the floor and you are so exhausted and physically tested that you do not enjoy the place at all. Bad experience
