This is the only ramen workshop in Kyoto run by a ramen restaurant, and our classes have many vegetarian and vegan customers.

You will paint your Ramen spoons on the second floor of the restaurant. The ramen bowls and ramen spoons will be baked in a special kiln overnight for free.

You can actually take the bowls home and use them.

You can also display them at home.

After that, you will cook Michelin-starred ramen under the guidance of a chef in the professional kitchen on the first floor.

All the ingredients prepared by the chef are brought in from nearby Musoushin Ramen.

Finally, you will eat the delicious ramen that you cooked yourself.

This class is operated by Musoshin Ramen, located in the Gion area of Kyoto. Musoshin Ramen was founded in Kyoto in 2012 and now operates restaurants in Kyoto and Toronto. Our Toronto location has been nominated for the Michelin Guide for four consecutive years, and we use the same recipe in all of our restaurants. Our mission is to spread delicious ramen all over the world. At Musoshin　Ramen　restaurant, we make all of our ramen ingredients in-house. We make our noodles every day and let them rest overnight. Our soup is prepared over 12 hours. Our ramen sauce (tare) and chashu pork are also handmade. In this workshop, you will cook your own ramen using the same ingredients as in our restaurant. This is the only ramen workshop in Kyoto connected to an actual ramen restaurant. In this class, you will paint your own ramen spoon, which will be fired overnight in a special kiln. (Pick up the next day or shipping to your hotel is available for an additional fee.) By boiling and arranging your ramen yourself, you will create a truly special bowl. Do yourself a favor and book this ramen bowl painting and making class right now! Located in the beautiful Gion area (with a wonderfully cute walk to get there), this was easily one of our favorite activities. The space is beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing. Our instructor, Sherry, was incredibly fun and interactive, keeping everyone engaged. Painting the bowls was great, but making (and eating!) the ramen was the absolute best part. Highly recommended for families. 10/10!

We had an amazing time with Sherry and Makoto! The ramen portion of the course is about 30-40 minutes long, where they explain the ramen process, learn some facts and history, and assemble your ramen bowl. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best ramen we had during our time in Japan. My boyfriend and I happened to be the only people in our class, so we got to talk with the employees more one on one and they were so nice and friendly. They gave us some idea on how to spend the rest of our time in Kyoto, and talked to us like old friends! We also had a really fun time painting our spoons! They turned out great and it was a really fun souvenir to take back home. We would love to come back again because we had such a good time! Just getting to eat that ramen was worth going to the class, but we got so much more than that with this experience.

Ended up having a private class with just the 2 of us, it could have been awkward but Sherry was hilarious and broke the ice. Food = good Spoon Art = average (potentially my own fault) Bag of Pikachu = cute

This was a highlight of our entire trip to Kyoto! My husband took our three kids (ages 12,11,8) and they had a great time and loved the food. I highly recommend for anyone who loves ramen, enjoys cooking or just wants to have a fun time! My kids are helping write the review and tell me I should give it 100,000 stars.

It was a bit hard to find, down an alley around the corner of where Apple Maps thought it was. The teachers were very kind and informative and went above and beyond to take pictures for us. Not to mention the ramen was 10/10!
