  The weather didn’t cooperate, and my Aurora tour was cancelled and I received a full refund, but that won’t keep me from leaving Lindsay a five star review. I can’t recommend Lindsay and Wandering Alaska enough for Aurora tours. If the weather, darkness, and Aurora data don’t align then Lindsay will tell you. She was in constant communication with me over my entire trip from the moment I booked, including sending me messages in the middle of the night to go outside when weather cleared up where I was staying allowing me to see the Aurora. Those little details matter so much. The Aurora is a natural phenomenon, so is the weather, there are no guarantees, but Lindsay will do everything in her power to help you have the best experience possible. Can’t recommend enough, and when we return we’ll definitely book with her. Don’t miss Wandering Alaska’s website, loads of options for exploring Alaska. Thank you Lindsay for working your tail off to help me see the Aurora even when the weather didn’t cooperate!!!!

  Fantabulous once in life time tour! Tour operator Lindsy & Shanon are very knowledgeable & gave detail explanation about Auroras. Women run business ,great Aurora chaser, to see 100% guaranteed ! Spent 4 hours chasing beautiful auroras at 4 spots in cold temps, providing delicious deserts & hot drinks! We are enjoyed this tour & very grateful to them for picking up/drop of from hotel . We highly recommend this tour for all Aurora chasers!

  Unfortunately, the tour was canceled due to cloud cover for 300 miles in every direction. The tour operator kept us informed with forecast updates. We totally understood. We were given a full refund. Other tourist at our hotel, who booked with other companies weren't so lucky. Their tour companies took them out, knowing there was zero chance to see the lights, and took their money. I would certainly book with them again, knowing they have integrity.

  Our Chase was great. Saw lights and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We recommend doing this especially if you’re staying within the light plume of Fairbanks

  Naela and I had an incredible experience with Lindsay at Wandering Alaska Photography. From the moment we connected, she was a wealth of knowledge about the aurora, photography, and the Fairbanks area. She was friendly, personable, and made the entire trip feel relaxed and comfortable from start to finish. The experience was also extremely well organized and surprisingly affordable for the value we received. Lindsay clearly knows exactly what she’s doing — she guided us to great viewing locations, shared helpful insights about photographing the northern lights, and made sure everyone felt taken care of throughout the night. Thanks to her expertise (and a little bit of luck with the skies), we ended up with some of the most gorgeous aurora photos my partner and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. It was truly a magical experience. If you’re considering an aurora photography tour in Alaska, I honestly could not recommend Lindsay and Wandering Alaska Photography more highly.   Our experience with Lindsey is difficult to put in to words. I hesitate to call it a chase, because it was more of an all-encompassing experience. If you have spent any portion of your life dreaming about seeing the northern lights, if even just once, you cannot afford to skip this review. First and foremost --- if you are traveling to Fairbanks for the first time and expect to just see the northern lights on your own, you're going to go home not having seen it as it should be seen. Lindsey was the most amazing host! Initially, my wife and I scheduled for a Tuesday, but an unexpected weather system brought clouds in to obstruct the sky. Lindsey reached out well over 24 hours in advance and said that we would need to try a different day. I know that having to put the money up on the front end can be a little intimidating, but at no point in the process was I actually concerned about losing my deposit or anything like that. Pretty much everything you plan ahead of time in Fairbanks will require this, it's not unique to this organization or even this category of business. I am a data guy, and like many data-obsessed folks, breaking things down for other people (in this case, my wife) to digest can be challenging and frustrating. I have tried to explain what I know about the science of the lights (admittedly this is a miniscule piece of the bigger pie) to my wife. Within 15 minutes, Lindsey had clearly communicated, in very plain language, all of the things I have tried to explain to my wife for the last several months. Lindsey is truly a gifted gal --- she will educate the hell out of you, but will disguise it as just general chit-chat. We learned a ton from her, not just about the lights but about the area (which she knows extraordinarily well), the climate, and a bit about her history, as well. This isn't some kind of pre-rehearsed pitch that she rolls out to everyone --- as someone who is super awkward and asks way too many questions, I put her on the spot time and time again and she proved that she is the real deal. She also has a tremendous understanding of human genetics, which play a role in actually seeing the aurora --- I won't ruin this for anyone, but she totally caught me off guard with her understanding of how, physiologically, our eyes function. As far as the tour itself, we shared a vehicle with one other couple, and we genuinely got to work collaboratively to design our own evening. Lindsey showed up with a plan to fill our time, but was frequently checking in with each couple. She genuinely wanted to make sure that our experience exceeded our expectations. My wife was like "I want to walk on a frozen lake", and just like that, our wish was granted. We didn't even have to go off the beaten path. With Lindsey really knowing the area, she made the stop along the way. Lindsey also embodied the true spirit of the city of Fairbanks, and our experience of Alaska in general --- she isn't playing the part of a super hospitable person, she will flip the vehicle around on the side of a mountain just to check on someone who seemed to be experiencing car trouble. I know this --- we are going to end up back in Alaska soon. I don't know if it will be for a visit, or to visit real estate, but our experience on this tour perfectly embodied everything we loved about Fairbanks, and now that we have had a couple of weeks to process the trip, we are still going on and on about our evening out with Lindsey. I could not imagine being more confident behind recommending someone to make your experience the best it can possibly be.

  Lindsay is the BEST! I’ve done multiple tours with her and have had a great time on every one of them. I’ve been dog sledding, aurora chasing, ice fishing, bear viewing, visited the hot springs, and gone snowmobiling through her company, and every tour was top-notch. Lindsay has excellent communication and was great about giving me alternative tour options when certain ones weren’t possible due to bad weather blowing in.
