Porto
Your experience starts at our Meeting Point, next to S. Bento Station and you will meet your guide that will drive you to the Amarante, our first stop. On your way to the Douro Region, your guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage.
Amarante
Amarante, our first stop, features the majestic Serra do Marão and the river Tâmega, which flows through the city and adds charm to its picturesque houses. The city, possibly founded by the Roman centurion Amarantus, links the provinces of Minho and Trás-os-Montes. In the 13th century, St. Gonçalo, a Benedictine monk and the city's patron saint, built a bridge over the Tâmega. Amarante is also renowned for its sweets, including papos de anjo, brisas do Tâmega, toucinho do céu, bolos de São Gonçalo, and galhofas, which can be found in local cake-shops and cafés.

We traveled to the Douro Valley with our driver Ana Sousa, who got us there and back safely through the narrow roads, and our guide Pedro Costa, who amused us (and himself) with loads of anecdotes about the phallic-shaped Bolos de São Gonçalo pastries from Amarante! You will understand once you see them. 10 hour tour in an air conditioned large van with nice sights, wine tasting and lunch. Would recommend to anyone.

Great experience. Our team were very friendly and very helpful. Our guide, Pedro Costa was very knowledgeable and filled us in on a lot of local information, history, and information about the wine industry. Ana Sousa was also very helpful. My only reservation was the air-conditioning on the mini bus which really couldn't cope with the high temperatures in the Douro Valley.

Cyber was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable of the local customs and history. Ana was an incredible driver, maneuvering the bus thru some very tight spaces. Both kept us on time, informed and safe. Thank you Cuber and Ana.
