  We had an outstanding experience exploring Polonnaruwa with Don Nuwan. His knowledge of Sri Lankan history, archaeology, Buddhism, and the ancient kingdom was exceptional, bringing the ruins to life with fascinating stories and context that we would never have appreciated on our own. He was professional, friendly, and patient throughout the tour, taking the time to answer every question and tailoring the pace to our interests. The explanations at key sites were clear, engaging, and informative. What impressed us most was his passion for sharing the history and cultural significance of Polonnaruwa. He helped us understand not only what we were seeing, but why it mattered. The tour was well organised, never rushed, and offered many opportunities for photographs and appreciation of the site’s beauty. If you are visiting Polonnaruwa, I highly recommend booking a tour with him.

  An amazing experience with Don. We really enjoyed the tour with the bicycle. He is an amazing professional, he really knows the history and he transmitted us the powerful of this site. He his friendly and knows how to respect your time. Truly recommend.

  The reviews don't lie, I think he's one of the best tour guide that I've ever book, he explain to me the detail of Polonnaruwa very good, he know the best spot and the must visited place in Pollonaruwa. I Wish i have more time so I can explore more this ancient city, but overall if you are in Sigiriya squeeze Polonnaruwa to your schedule, contact Nuwan and ask him to be your guide it will be amazing His service price was very good and for me its worth it

  I visited Polonnaruwa in April with my family. We did not have any plans of hiring the services of a guide. However, after visiting the museum close to the ticket counter, we realised the importance of having a guide given the vast size of the ancient city. Right outside the museum, we met Don Nuwan. He agreed to guide us around the city. Don Nuwan is knowledgeable and passionate about history. He explained the historical significance of every site, staying close to documented facts without trying to add any unnecessary dramatic stories. My wife is a student of history and archaeology and she really appreciated his attempt to stay as close to documented history as possible. He even drew maps and layouts of the city in the sand, helping us get a better understanding of the scale of the ancient city. While we had agreed for a specific duration, he took us to almost all the important sites in the city, going over and above the agreed time limit, without asking for anything extra. He truly made out trip to Polonnaruwa memorable due to his knowledge and passion for the city's history and his ability to narrate it in an engaging manner. I highly recommend Don Nuwan as a guide to better understand Polonnaruwa's ancient history.

  Mr. Don is kind spirited guide with very professional knowledge of the subject. He accomodated our requirements as we traveled with 6years old and the tour went extremely well for the duration. Once the tour ened- we received well wishes, which our son took so well and called the guide- as the best! Recommended!

  Mr. Don Nuwan was a great guide for us at the Polonnaruwa Ancient City Ruins! He is very thorough, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his job. He took us around more places than other guides and spent more time explaining to us the history of the place, answering questions etc. He also spoke good English. I would strongly recommend him!

  Don Nuwan was very informative and helpful. We were picked up on time by tuk-tuk and accompanied round the site, including an introductory tour of the museum. Well paced and worthwhile visit.

  Nuwan is simply an outstanding guide. His knowledge is amazing. He was invaluable on our stunning visit to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa and it was a delight to be in his company. He gave us the most incredible tour of Polonnaruwa. The history of this beautiful country and her peoples is extraordinary. Sri Lanka is a very special country.   We did a tour of Polunnaruwa with Don Nuwan at the end of last week. What a fantastic experience. It is a wonderful place to see and our tour was totally enhanced by this guide. He is so passionate about his subject and very knowledgeable. He was flexible and understood our requirements. He is also very clear with his explanations. He managed to put up with my husband’s frequent unusual questions and my limited attention span very well. Thoroughly recommended.
