Its plaza is rated as one of the nation’s top outdoor gathering spots and is referred to as the "living room of Fort Worth.” Visitors to Sundance Square are encouraged to explore its murals, whimsical water fountains, courtyards, one-of-a-kind local shops, great food, and live music.
Fort Worth
Rails and Reflection Heading South to the T&P Station Continuing south, we drive by the Texas and Pacific Railway Station. This Art Deco masterpiece serves as a reminder of 1931, when the railroad was the lifeblood of the city's economy. The Water Gardens: Just a block away, we enter the Fort Worth Water Gardens. This "cooling oasis" is an architectural marvel of cascading water. We’ll take a moment to walk down into the Active Pool, where the water thunders around you. JFK Memorial: On our way back toward the center, we pass the JFK Tribute. This marks the spot outside the former Hotel Texas where President Kennedy gave his final public speech on the morning of November 22, 1963.

Construction messed up the route somewhat. We did not see everything as advertised because the driver ran out of time. Still he related stories and history of the area very well. He had a good sense of humor in his delivery. He even had to put up with a very rude lady from New Jersey. She made the situation very tense. The only other thing was it was supposed to be an open air vehicle for a better view. I sat on the inside aisle in the closed van. The view was not as good as it would have been in that open air vehicle. Nor did it say in the write-up we saw that you were going to be let out to walk around the stockyards for over an hour and a half. Good thing my wife and I both could walk. This could have been a problem should we have been unable to walk. Not the driver’s fault, but poor advertising.

Visit was posted as a 3 hour tour. We met at 930- someone wanted coffee so our guide asked us to meet back at 950. He drove us around downtown Fort Worth, stopped at the water gardens for 10 min. Then we drove to the stockyards. We were dropped at the stockyards at 11 am. He said he would pick us up at 1245. So the tour was 1 hour in total!! The guide was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable- said this was the 2nd time he had given the 3 hour tour.

We assumed that "open air" meant a tour vehicle that had an open top but it was just a regular 8 passenger van. The tour guide, "Jim" was good but it was hard to see anything from inside the vehicle. We paid for the 3 hour tour but it was no different than the 75 minute tour with the exception that you could stay at the Stockyards for an hour or so and then get a ride back to the downtown pick-up spot. Definitely not worth what we paid. You're better off just walking around downtown on your own self-guided tour and traveling to the Stockyards on another adventure.

We drove around Fort Worth and learned about the history which was nice. But not so much of a tour of the Stockyards. I would’ve liked to have learned more about that history.

This is really an activity you should do on day one of your visit. Issac was not only great, but also has the scoop on where to eat, go, etc. We really enjoyed Issac and the tour experience.

Isaac was a wonderful guide on the big golf cart for 7 us. He was accommodating to our needs and was very informed about all the buildings and architecture in the Dallas area. He especially was educated in jfk and what took place in the area. He was also helpful in finding place to eat and advised us when and where to be cautious if walking around certain areas. I would definitely go with Isaac again when we come back.
