Explore some of Charleston's enchanting alleyways and historic sites on this small group, 2-hour walking tour. With our small group tours, you are guaranteed a more intimate and up-close experience. Charleston's alleyways are fortunately located within the popular historic district which allows us to include some well known points of interest and go a little "off the beaten path” while exploring the history and beauty of Charleston's enchanting alleyways. Generally, we include between four to six different alleyways/passages as well as popular points of interest like Rainbow Row and of course, tons of history! These pedestrian passageways are often overlooked, but walking along these cobbled paths is an opportunity to appreciate Charleston's rich history and hidden, more intimate charms.

Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon
The tour will begin from the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon. Please note that we do not go inside the building.
We will explore between 4 to 6 alleyways as well as popular points of interest, some of which are located in the residential parts of the historic district we call "South of Broad".

5.00This was a great tour! Loved walking through the area and seeing the beautiful window boxes and houses and hearing all the history. Duggar was our guide and he was wonderful! 10/10 recommend!

Our guide, Jim, led us on a fascinating journey through parts of Charleston that most visitors would likely never discover on their own. As we wandered through charming cobblestone alleys, hidden passageways, and historic corners of the city, Jim brought Charleston’s rich history to life with engaging stories, historical insights, and a genuine passion for the city. The tour included several of Charleston’s most notable historic sites and landmarks, while also highlighting lesser-known locations that made the experience feel unique and special. Jim’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and friendly demeanor made the tour both educational and entertaining. Charleston is a beautiful city with a remarkable history, and this tour provided the perfect way to experience it beyond the usual tourist paths. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend “The Hidden Alleyways and Historic Sites” tour to anyone visiting Charleston. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip! 5.00An easy and delightful way to be introduced to the city. Having a guide walking you through the streets allows you glimpses of historic alleyways and secluded gardens and courtyards that you wouldn’t have known existed. I thoroughly enjoyed my historic walk.
