Your professional guide will customize the trip to your group offering choices from the park's ranger-guided tours (Seasonally available 2nd week of May thru 3rd week of October) as well as adding historical, cultural and archaeological insights on interpretive hikes and walking tours. Park entrance fees, ranger-guided tour tickets and a deli-style lunch are included.
Discover Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978 and considered the largest archaeological preserve and first cultural National Park in the country. Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States.

Mesa Verde National Park
You will learn and see as much as you can in a single day with a guide passionate about the park and the culture. This tour has stops at several of the parks archaeological sites, several of the cliff dwellings, the historic museum, spectacular and a 30 minute ranger guided tour into the crown jewel of the park; Cliff Palace. Cliff Palace is a world- famous masterpiece of architecture and design and the largest cliff dwelling in the park. Considered moderately strenuous, this tour will descend uneven stone steps and climb four 10ft ladders, with an elevation change of 100 feet. Total walking distance is 1/4 mile. Although tickets will be provided for everyone, not everyone has to go on the tour and this can be decided together with your guide at the park. Included: Park fees, Cliff Palace tickets, transportation to and from Durango and within the park, plenty of water and a delicious sandwich lunch. Cannot accommodate children under the age of 4 or people will severe mobility issues

5.00I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Everything about the experience was spectacular, and it was by far the best way to see the park. Our tour guide, Neil, was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the park, its history, and the details that made each stop meaningful. He also added a thoughtful personal touch with a homemade chicken salad croissant lunch, snacks, water and other beverages, and a special gift. The itinerary could not have been better. We saw places we never would have discovered on our own, and Neil provided history and context around every curve of the road. The two cliff dwelling sites we visited within the park were both incredible. The entire tour was well planned, informative, and memorable. This tour gets my highest recommendation.

5.00Today we toured with Neil. I cannot express how kind, knowledgeable and professional he was. We were entertained from the second we entered the tour bus. We were lucky we had a small tour. It was just me and my husband and a lovely couple from Michigan. It was a perfect day. Neil fed us an excellent lunch and made sure we were hydrated with plenty of water and snacks. I HIGHlY RECOMMEND this tour to anyone looking for a great adventure! Thanks Neil!

5.00This tour was phenomenal and absolutely beautiful. Our guide Neil was a star! Very knowledgeable, super duper friendly and absolutely at your service. His driving, snacks, drinks and lunch were superb. His storytelling was very entertaining and he’s all around great. My only knock on this company is that I had initially booked the half day tour and I got contacted by them and offered the full day tour for way more than it was advertised on Viator or trip advisor. I did mention it to them but ended up paying at least $35 over asking price pp on trip advisor. I didn’t book online bc it showed as “sold out” so paid the extra money. But the tour itself was a great experience.

5.00This trip is awesome and the dwellings are breathtaking. Our tour guide Neil was the best and was very knowledgeable. Great information and the chicken salad at lunch was delicious. This is a definite must do when in Durango.

5.00We had a great Mesa Verde full day trip. Our guide, Aaron, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the park and its history. We learned all day long. We did the ranger led tours at Balcony House and Cliff Palace. Both were very interesting, but I’m not sure young kids enjoy it - maybe too much standing and listening to rangers for them. The ladders made me a little anxious but not enough to damping the experience. Our guide also led us around other sites in the park, explaining the evolution of the people that lived there hundreds of years ago. The cliff houses themselves are amazing - what a feat to create!

5.00Absolutely loved this tour. Niel’s stories made the entire trip interesting and entertaining. His knowledge of the sites was outstanding and made the trip efficient since we went directly to points of interest without wandering around the (very large) park. Lunch was provided and excellent too. Can’t recommend this tour too highly!
