Our guides are all professional and Certified Pico Mountain Guides with experience in High Altitude Mountains and belonging to AGMA – Association of Azores Mountain Guides.
The guide will constantly monitor your well-being during the climb by watching you and speaking with you and being ready to act if necessary.
You will be aware of the interesting facts about the Volcano formation and its geology, fauna and flora, always with good mood and motivation from the most experienced guides of the island.

Participants should not have gone diving 24 hours before the climb.
It is mandatory to present yourself with proper mountain boots and equipment suitable for the activity. Failure to meet these requirements may result in exclusion from the climb, including by decision of the Mountain House, without the right to a refund
All participants must be in good physical condition and have motor coordination. Please inform Tripix Azores of any physical restrictions, including issues with lower limbs, vertigo, mental health, heart problems, asthma, diabetes, pregnancy, or other health conditions.

This mountaineering activity is a challenging climb, but very rewarding experience! The difficulty is medium to high degree, depending on how is your physical preparation and coordination. Active people should not miss this adventure! The ascent of Mount Pico start around 7am and an average duration between 7/9 hours, depending on the pace of the group and weather conditions. The steep and irregular trail is composed between solidified lava flows and scramble rocks, has 4km distance and 1100mt of elevation from the starting point at Casa da Montanha (1230mt altitude) to the top of Mount Pico - Piquinho (2351mt altitude), covering the full climb on 8km distance and an accumulated elevation of 2200mt. Our Certified Pico Mountain Guides will lead you by the best track possible ensuring the most safety and enjoyable activity for you, with all the information about the geology and biodiversity of the volcano. It is also important to understand the climb depends on 3 meteorological factors: Wind direction and intensity + Cloud altitude levels + Rain forecasts.

5.00Salvé 15 June It was a brutal day, full of overcoming, companionship, challenges and experiences that will last forever. We were full of heart and sure it was worth every step and every shared story. Matteo, more than a super guide was a fantastic travel companion. We thank purifying for the incredible experience of climbing the Peak Mountain. His professionalism, patience, sympathy and extensive knowledge gave us the confidence, security and strength to reach the top. The toast, after the best sandwich of recent times, was the perfect time to celebrate, life, the mountain and the effort, and of course, laugh a lot A big hug, Matteo. 5.00The climb to the peak with overnight stay was absolutely spectacular! An unforgettable experience with amazing landscapes and a unique connection with nature. Our guide, Mateo, was simply fantastic — very attentive, always well disposed and did everything to make the moment really magical. We always felt accompanied, motivated and safe throughout the adventure. I recommend this experience to all those who like nature, hiking and outdoor adventure. Really worth it!

5.00The ascent of Pico was a challenge. Don't be fooled by the relatively low altitude (2350 m). In most sections the road is rough, strewn with numerous stones of cooled lava, and the last 30-40 meters is a very steep cone, which you literally have to climb. And if we add that the top is almost always shrouded in fog, the markings are not very visible.

5.00The mountain climb from the peak with overnight stays in the crater organized by Tripix Azores was simply an incredible experience! From the beginning we felt that there was immense care and attention in the preparation process, with the right councils regarding the equipment to use and everything that was necessary for the climb. In addition, there was a careful analysis of the weather conditions, ensuring our safety and also the best possible experience. Matteo, our guide, proved extremely experienced, helpful, dynamic and always willing, something that was crucial to motivate and support the whole group until we reached the goal of completing this adventure! We always felt safe and well accompanied, even in the most demanding parts of the mountain. Seeing the sunset and sunrise on top of the Peak will forever be recorded in our memory as a wonderful and unique image! Surprisingly, Matteo also provided us with amazing and super instagramable photos and videos of past moments, which will allow us to eternalize this fantastic experience. I highly recommend!:D
