First off we went on our own, I do not recommend you take this overpriced tour posted. I paid entrance fee at the door which was $25 senior which I think is outrageous. I did not do the additional virtual add on. The reason I gave venue "average" is due to price, parking, and just getting to the door. First off I updated my GPS and still it would not find the museum, I had to go about an additional mile as I was aware of general area. The parking is not marked at all. I saw cars close to building (which was marked) and figured that was the parking. Since we were 90 and 81 year old just getting in the building is a jaunt all uphill which includes steps. This is not wheelchair or scooter friendly. Why you would build a new building without this feature is beyond me. I did find out after the fact, if you call the venue and let them know when you will be there they will raise the delivery door and you can come in that way through the service and kitchen entrance. Are you kidding me!!! We did leave that way after finding that out. Now for the Museum itself. The docents of the Museum, they are plenty of them and very helpful. You need them just to figure out where to start and what to do first. I do not believe you can do without theme. The place to start the docent brought us into a circled room where you sit on bench and view a 300 degree movie which is very good. My issue is the room is so dark before you get seated it is pretty scary to walk in the dark. Also the bench is pretty low so best to feel it before you sit down. There is someone who will show you out after the movie for rest of the tour. The rest of tour is on your own and plenty of docents again to help you or ask questions. While we were there a school tour was in process. They were pretty unruly and did not use their indoor voice which took away from the solemn atmosphere of the venue. They have a cafe on site which I was told excellent but pricy. We chose not to go as looking at cafe it was just tables and chairs without a great view and no atmosphere. I would gladly paid if there had been atmosphere. I did purchase a freedom tee shirt in the gift shop and would have bought Metal of Honor Museum tee shirt but all the backs of the shirts were printed with the sponsor logo in large print no less and had nothing to do with the museum itself. Whoever negotiated that deal was highly misled that would be best seller. All in all I do recommend for history buffs and Military personnel and family of military. This is not a place I believe for infants and very young people

The Medal of Honor Museum was a great tour. It presentation of the entire museum was quite well done. Lots of interesting and informative displays to honor our bravest military personnel during all periods.

A very interesting and well thought out museum...features a virtual reality "Dustoff" experience, where visitors can sit in a simulated 1968 Huey helicopter and make difficult decisions during a medical evacuation mission. Thought out and interesting exhibits. Parking is an issue, it is a bit hard to find and then there is lots of walking up ramp; however if employees are around will walk you through back entrance if you need the assistance.

Don’t buy this tour. They are not affiliated with the Museum. The museum itself offers tours for $50 with their trained staff, not this random person.
