As we wander through the towering pines, your guide will bring the forest to life with fun stories about Norse mythology and the quirky "hytte" (cabin) culture that Norwegians live for. It’s a relaxed, social hike where you’ll learn exactly why we’re so obsessed with our "Friluftsliv" lifestyle.
Vettakollen Viewpoint
This is the "wow" moment of the tour. We’ll reach this iconic rocky summit for the absolute best panoramic views of the Oslofjord, the city skyline, and the islands. It’s the perfect spot for photos! While you take in the scenery, your guide will serve up a refreshing drink and a sweet local treat to recharge your energy before we head down to the lake.

5.00This was a lovely walk in the forest near Oslo, easily reached by the metro train. Our whole family enjoyed the outing but since it was my 15 yo son's favorite thing we did on our entire 2 week trip to Norway and Sweden, I will write what he said about the experience. "The guide was cool. He was nice and didn't care I only had jam on my waffles. The waffles were good. The forest was interesting, I liked the ground and the trees." Pretty high praise!

5.00I was a bit hesitant to book a tour with a meeting point outside center city Oslo in the forest, but after hearing about the Norwegian love of the outdoors & how every tram lines ends in nature, I had to go see what it was about. Getting there was easy peasy. The views over Oslo were absolutely amazing & definitely worth the trip. Andreas is a top notch guide, keeping his narrative both informative & entertaining. The hike was perfect - enough to feel you had exercised but not enough to wear you out for the rest of the day. And what I can I say about his delicious waffles with brown cheese, cooked out in the open as you sit at a beautiful lake enjoying the company of ducks & cooling your feet in the water? Superb! This activity was one of the highlights of my trip. PD He has walking poles which otherwise would have been a deal breaker for me!

5.00It was a lot of fun to have Andreas as a guide. The trails are very beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and the waffle at the end is simply perfect! I can only recommend the hike to everyone. What to keep in mind: I find it is really more suitable for people who are physically active or generally go hiking. For people who have never done this, I would advise against it. Additionally, you must definitely bring your own drinks!

5.00A relatively easy hike with great views, great food and great guide. The meeting point is at the end of the metro line, which (thankfully) did most of the mountain for us - with lovely views on the way. The walk through the forest was accompanied with stories of Norwegian culture and folklore, and included walking up and down the hiking path and through rocky areas. The view point showed Oslo city, fjord, Olympic ski jump, and of course nature! The waffles were delicious, with cardamom, cheese and jams. Would recommend.

5.00Great hike and delicious waffles! Guide is funny, hard working, and knowledgeable. Be prepared for a trek and make sure you can handle lots of uneven ground and a few hills. If you can you'll get to see some lovely views, a lush forest, and a picturesque lake with the best waffles you ever had.

5.00The tour with Andreas was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, Andreas was very funny and high energy, sharing the Norwegian history, culture, stories and a few secrets! The tour takes you through a peaceful forest, to a stunning viewpoint overlooking Oslo and the Fjord, then to a pretty lake where I swam and we ate waffles - which were delicious! The hike is moderate and we went at a fast pace, which was perfect for me. Overall an amazing experience, and I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family when they visit Oslo! Thanks so much Andreas!

5.00We love this hiking tour, It is easy and breath so good and fresh, the moment we hopped into the train, the screenaries are amazing. Slow walk in the forest with Andrea so enjoyable. He always checked on us and told us about myth and juicy stories of the forest and the unforgettable yummy waffle that he made for us. Thank you Andrea.
