Not knowing what to expect we thoroughly enjoyed the company of Sophon our chef and teacher, and the rest of the staff. Engaging at the fresh produce market was also a highlight.

I had a great time at this cooking class. We first went to the market to shop for the ingredients...an added bonus, getting to see a local market. And the cooking was clear and turned out great! I have been wanting to know how to create these tastes and now I do. Also, the locale is so pretty and calming! Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

This was a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience. First, we were welcomed into the Rosa suite which is a lovely venue, tucked away on a quiet street. Then we joined Chef Sokea (who is very knowledgeable and speaks perfect English) at the local market to buy our ingredients where she explained to us what a number of unusual foods were - she happily modified our 3 course meal to substitute tofu for chicken - and then we returned to base to begin our class. Sokea was a wonderful teacher, taking us through each dish one by one and helping us to make them and talking about ways we could modify the dishes to suit our tastes. It was really great fun and helped us feel more connected with the country through its food. The class is supremely organised with one or two more helpers, preparing things (bringing in equipment, washing it up) so that we could focus on the class and cooking. At the end, we sat down to eat what we had made and received a certificate, recipes and photos our helpers took while we were at work.

This was an optional activity on our Scenic cruise. It was great fun and both educational and empowering. It started with a shopping adventure (aided by a kind chef). The talented and friendly master chef then taught us to make a 3-course lunch, and we each prepared and ate our own. The green papaya salad was amazing, the curry delicious, and the banana dessert decadent! We left with the recipes and the capacity to recreate the meal at home, and I can't wait to amaze my family with my new cooking skills!
