A cooking experience allows you to get hands-on and learn the secrets behind the country's most beloved dishes. These experiences led by a few friends(local chefs) offering a warm and personal touch. The experience often begins with a trip to a bustling local market, Here, your guide will introduce you to a variety of fresh produce, herbs, and spices, explaining their uses and cultural significance. You'll learn how to select the best ingredients for your meal, from ripe coconuts to aromatic curry leaves. In a home kitchen or a dedicated cooking space, you'll roll up your sleeves and get to work. Under the guidance of us, you'll learn traditional cooking methods, such as grinding spices on a stone mortar and pestle and preparing dishes in traditional clay pots. You'll master the art of making a classic Sri Lankan "rice and curry" meal, which usually consists. The best part of the experience is sitting down to enjoy the delicious feast you've prepared.

5.00Highly recommend this cooking class, if you’re looking for an authentic experience in Colombo. The cooking was a lot of fun, the dishes were super delicious and Pradeep was a great guide :) couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a relaxing, but interactive afternoon in Colombo.

5.00We had an incredible time at the Colombo Cooking Experience. From the moment we started with the market tour to the final bite of our meal, everything was seamless. Learning about the different Sri Lankan spices and how to balance flavours was eye-opening. The host was knowledgeable, welcoming, and made the entire process fun and interactive. If you want to go beyond just eating and actually understand the heart of Sri Lankan cuisine, this is a must-do!

5.00We had a brilliant time at the cooking class. Pradeep was an excellent host, really friendly and informative. He taught us a lot about the local produce whilst we were at the market and then showed us how to combine everything to make all the dishes. We made some delicious food and had a great time whilst doing so - would highly recommend this activity!
