Five Guests, One Nonna, One Unforgettable Table.
We believe the best flavors come from the best company. We intentionally keep your classes tiny—just 5 guests—to ensure you aren't just a face in a crowd.
The uniqueness lies in the "Dopopranzo" (the time after the meal). We don't just cook and leave; we sit, we share local wine, we tell stories of old Palermo as a family.
The experience begins with a warm welcome, as Nonna shares the heritage of the menu. Then, the dance begins. With step-by-step guidance, you will cook side-by-side with Nonna, learning the family secrets of cuisine. The host stays by her side throughout, ensuring every technique and story is shared.
The finale: we sit together to enjoy the authentic meal you prepared with the nonna.
Buon appetito e salute!

First, nonna will introduce herself, ask a bit about you, and then clearly explain how the cooking class will work. Then you will learn from Nonna with step-by-step guidance to cook traditional pasta, meat, or a Sicilian dessert. At the end of the experience you will enjoy the delicious meal you created with the nonna and the group. Buon appetito!

This was an absolutely fantastic activity and something totally different to anything we have been before, really recommended! Francesco lifted us at our apartment and took us to the terrace, were we were welcomed with nibbles and drinks before we began making a three course meal with the Sicilian Nonna! The food was lovely and the relaxing vibes throughout were excellent. Francesco is a great house and his mother was our cooker which made it even better!

Book this experience!!!!! :) There's not a shortage of cooking experiences in/around Palermo but I was really trying to find one that felt like I was cooking not only a typical Sicilian recipe (Anelletti al Forno for my experience), but also, with someone who's been cooking these recipes all their life. That Nonna touch that can't be reproduced in a commercial kitchen set-up. And Francesco was an absolute dream to coordinate with! Not only was he super communicative, but he was happy to share travel tips and recommendations for Palermo and beyond. He also helped me find a local ceramicist for a special project since I was in Sicily for ceramics. He literally was so generous with his local tips and information. I felt like I had a friend in Palermo. This class was the perfect mix of hands-on prepping and cooking, but also getting to chat and relax. And then enjoying what we created together brought the whole experience together. It was a very warm, welcoming environment. I don't speak Italian and there was no issues with the language barrier since Francesco was so good at actively translating what Nonna was saying as we cooked. It was quite impressive to be honest! :) If you are looking for an authentic, well-curated, fun, friendly, DELICIOUS!!!, cooking experience while visiting Palermo, this is the experience for you. I was solo but I could only imagine going with a few friends who be a wonderful, unforgettable experience. You are in the best of hands with Francesco. He's a genuine, kind host that really cares that you get the best experience while in his home area. He truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was just right. Thank you so much Francesco and Nonna Sylvane!!! A highlight of my 2.5 weeks in Sicily! See you next time... :)

We wholeheartedly recommend this truly immersive experience in the heart of Sicilian cooking and hospitality. From the moment we arrived at the villa we felt completely at home. Listening to the stories behind recipes and traditions that have been passed down through generations made the experience so much more meaningful. Francesco was a first-class host, attentive to every detail and always on hand to translate and share the wisdom of his wonderful mother, Nonna Sylvia. What made this experience so special was the genuine warmth of the family. You could feel the love and pride they have for one another, their food, and their Sicilian heritage. They opened their home and their hearts to us as we cooked together, laughed, and later shared stories over a delicious meal and lovely local wine on the terrace. Our cooking lesson included bruschetta, caponata (without question the best we tasted in Sicily), polpette di sarde, pasta c'anciova, and fragole all'arancia. Every dish was authentic, delicious, and enriched by the stories and traditions behind it. Our visit extended well beyond the scheduled three hours. Yet at no point did we feel rushed or conscious of the time. Instead, the morning unfolded naturally, much like a visit with family, and came to a beautiful and unforced conclusion. If you're looking for more than just a cooking class—an authentic cultural experience filled with exceptional food, hospitality, and genuine human connection—this is an experience not to be missed.

Today my bestie and I decided to put our cooking skills to the test, and what an experience it turned out to be! Our day started with being picked up by our host, Francesco. A man of many talents, who expertly guided us through the beautiful chaos that is Palermo traffic, where road markings and traffic lights seem to function more as friendly suggestions than actual rules. The comfortable, air-conditioned ride to Mondello was already a welcome start to the day. Once there, we were introduced to the wonderful Nonna Enza. What an incredible woman. Warm, welcoming, and carrying a lifetime of knowledge and tradition. With Francesco translating her instructions into English, we enthusiastically set to work preparing authentic Sicilian dishes under her patient guidance. The cooking itself was fantastic, but what made it truly special was the atmosphere. It felt less like a class and more like being welcomed into a Sicilian family. After preparing several delicious dishes, we enjoyed the fruits of our labor together on the terrace, sharing stories, laughter, and some truly amazing food. By the time we left, our stomachs were full, our hearts were happy, and we even received a loving pinch on the cheek from Nonna Enza herself—a seal of approval we will treasure forever. Thank you, Francesco and Nonna Enza, for an unforgettable experience. If you’re visiting Palermo and looking for something authentic, personal, and genuinely memorable, this is an experience not to be missed.

If one is looking for a real, unique, cozy and personal Palermo - Sicilian cooking experience, look no further. The host (Francesco) will pick you up near the Palermo Marina and bring you to the the hills of Mondello; where you will meet the nonna and begin to emerge yourselves with an abundance of welcoming, a warm atmosphere and a delight of ingredients to enter your cooking experience. Every moment feels like a memorable journey filled with joy! This a great Segway to emerge into culture, family and admire a corner of Palermo sorroundings that you would not know unless you book it!

BOOOK! This was such an amazing experience with lovely Nonna! Francesco was so gracious to pick us up and engaged with us ever so kindly. He translated for Nonna the entire time and ensured we all participated and had a great time. We learned great new recipes from hardworking Nonna and created memories that will last a lifetime. The house you cook in is also gorgeous and you get to enjoy your hard work on the terrace—talk about a meal with a view! We loved this so much.
