I signed up with Himalayan Recreation for the Everest Marathon and Everest Base Camp package. It was the most amazing experience of my life! From the moment I contacted the owner Bishnu, I knew I chose the right company to guide me on this adventure. Excellent communication in the months leading up to this trip. All questions were answered and the price was great. Everything described was delivered and then some! I was met at the Kathmandu airport and taken to a great hotel in Thamel prior to the trek. Airfare to Lukla was included along with transfers. My guide / porter Subash met me and gave me the best possible service, friendly guidance with excellent English, and made the entire trek memorable! Every accommodation and meal were completely taken care of. Every detail of the marathon was included. Post race, the trek and trip back were just as awesome! Bishnu even met me and took me to a nice dinner on my last night in Kathmandu if you have any thoughts about an EBC trek or anything else in the area and want the best service-do yourself a favor and use Himalayan Recreation! I had the trip of a lifetime!!

I completed the Everest Base Camp Trek in May 2026, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The breathtaking Himalayan scenery, challenging trails, and unforgettable sense of achievement made every step worthwhile. A special thanks to my guide, Buddha, who was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly helpful throughout the journey, always ensuring our safety and comfort. I would also like to thank Bishnu, the Managing Director, for his excellent hospitality and professionalism. He even treated our group to a wonderful meal, which was a thoughtful and memorable gesture. I highly recommend this trek and the team to anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure.

Pure nature, beautiful landscapes, great encounters, we were lucky enough that the weather played along. It stands and falls with the weather

A trip that delivers in many ways, great guide (Naranyan) who went out of his way to help us, nice tea houses with comfortable beds and safe food Menus were all the same so lacking variety, whilst everything above Namchi (3400m) gets progressively more unaffordable. Weather is critical and it rains almost every day this time of year seemingly. Scenery was still awe inspiring with massive peaks and glaciers but we still never sighted Everest due to cloud. Manageable ascent for someone in their 20s but an older person will need to be fit and motivated to survive the brutal climbs to Namchi, Tenbouchi Monastery or the Labouche Pass which is simply pure evil at 5100m. Amazing sights along thre way both natural and cultural. Bucket list item for me definitely an One And Done. Drones more or less banned was disappointing. This company tries hard to ensure a successful experience. .

It was a great experience and the scenery and the journey were well worth it. Bishnu was always on top of everything and always tried to make sure everything turned out perfect. My guide Basu was amazing as he always had the best disposition for everything and also helped me a lot with the photos since I was traveling alone. I am very grateful to the entire company for making my trip unforgettable.

It was a wonderful experience that would not have been possible without our guide Raj and our Porter Sam. At first I wanted to do the tour alone with my partner, but he wanted to have it run and I have to say that was the best decision. Especially at altitude it is not completely safe and then it is good if you have someone there who knows his way around. Both were super nice, always punctual and positive. We would always do a tour with them. We have always felt comfortable. It was a unique experience

This company is highly recommended. Our guide Raj and the associated Porter Sam are very nice and helpful people. The professionalism and support throughout the hike were excellent. Personal sensitivities were taken into consideration and we were able to take enough breaks to finish the trek or just take pictures of the breathtaking scenery. Also the medical care -if you Mal was not comfortable - was very good. We can make a recommendation without restrictions and wish every hiker a good and successful start.

I’d like to thank Bishnu Thapa for his professionalism and for taking good care of me from the very beginning — from my first questions before the trek to after I came back down from Everest Base Camp. He was always available and helpful. Thanks also to my guide Bashu, who was professional and accommodating throughout the trek. The accommodations were adequate all along the way, and I appreciated the clear focus on safety. Highly recommended for anyone considering trekking in Nepal with peace of mind.
