Le Morne Brabant is a mountain of the south-west of Mauritius, on the peninsula of le Morne. Our team has been the first ever guides in 2004 to bring guests from all over the planet on this majestic rock. Declared World Heritage by UNESCO since July 6, 2008, the site is a sanctuary of the runaway slaves who would have committed suicide by jumping off the cliff of the mountain.
Le Morne Brabant is one of the most preserved and wildest mountains of the island. It is habitat to a very large variety of endemic and narrow-endemic species, such as the rare Trochetia Boutoniana, which is our floral emblem.
Some steeper parts of the ascent will require the use of our hands to progress safely towards the top, where we’ll discover the breath-taking views on the west and south-west lagoons and part of of the island !

One of the highlights of our 2w Mauritius trip - there is a little uncertainty about whether hikers are currently allowed to climb the difficult second section. The checkpoint at the base said “summit closed” but several people went to the summit the day we were there. We planned to go to the mid view point as we had been told that the top section was closed. Guides are however looking for business to escort visitors for the top section we were quoted 1000 MUR and our guide was brilliant - he expertly led our group was patient and pointed out footholds in the difficult sections. Me and my partner are in our mid 50s and pretty fit. We found the second section tough but manageable. There are a couple of drop offs and there have been accidents here. Definitely recommend a guide unless you are experienced at scrambling / climbing. Take water at least 1L per person and don’t go if it’s wet!

We did the Le Morne Brabant hike with Rowin from Yanature and had a great experience. He was punctual, well-organized, and made sure everyone was comfortable from the meeting point all the way to the summit. The trail has some rocky sections that require a bit of climbing, and Rowin gave clear guidance and kept a steady, safe pace throughout. He also shared interesting details about the mountain's history and the local plants and wildlife along the way, which added a lot to the hike. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. If you're planning to hike Le Morne, we'd recommend going with Rowin. Thank you for a memorable morning.

We had an absolutely amazing experience hiking Le Morne with the group! Everything was perfect from start to finish, the timing, the organization, and the way they guided us throughout the hike. Christopher truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, safe, and enjoying every moment. His knowledge, patience, and positive energy made the whole experience even more special. This was honestly one of the highlights of our trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We wouldn’t do this hike with anyone else and will definitely be recommending it to all our friends and family. Thank you for making this such a memorable experience!

I had great experience with ny guide Rowin who really helped me to get in the top of Le Morne. I was carrying my camera bag which weighs more than 29kg so was struggling with rock climbing section. But Rowin carried my bag so I was able to make it. It was wonderful experience which I would never forget in my life. Thanks Rowin!

My wife and I hiked Le Morne Brabant, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The summit offers breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoons and coast, just like the stunning vista captured in image.png. The trail begins with a gentle hike through lush green forestry, but quickly transitions into a steep, rocky scramble. For the upper half, you are essentially climbing on your hands and knees. Because of the intense terrain, I highly recommend hiring a professional guide. Our guide showed us the safest footholds, kept us motivated, and shared the mountain's rich history, making the dramatic views at the checkpoints even more rewarding. Quick Tips: Go early to beat the heat, wear hiking shoes with excellent grip, and bring plenty of water. It’s an incredible experience, but book a guide to stay safe!
