What To Expect
Experience the only live LAVA SHOW in the world! We recreate a volcano eruption by superheating real lava and pouring it into a showroom full of people. A one-of-a-kind experience!

Lava Show: Premium Experience
Access to the Premium Lounge: Enjoy the luxurious VIP lounge on the second floor, specifically designed to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Behind the Scenes Video: Exclusive behind the scenes video after the classic experience is over that explains how the lava-melting process works. Premium Balcony Seats (hot!): More comfortable balcony seats on the 2nd floor with unhindered balcony view over the lava flow. These seats are extra hot! Duration: 1 hour 10 minutes A drink of choice upon arrival: As part of the Premium Experience you get a welcome drink of your choice from the lounge bar A giftwrapped piece of lava: A unique and beautiful piece of black shiny lava (tachylite) from the show, giftwrapped in a velvet pouch including a tag.
The Classic Experience
Duration: 50 minutes: A ~10 min intro by the lava host, a dramatic, educational video, and then the lava flows into the showroom. Q&A at the end.

5.00We decided to spring for the premium ticket option for the Lava Show, and it was absolutely worth it. The pre and post show experiences added a ton of value, and we even walked away with a really nice gift at the end! It is incredible to feel the heat and see real molten lava up close. Our host during the show mentioned that she was new, but you never would have known, she did a fantastic job explaining the characteristics of the lava and exactly how it interacts with the environment. The whole family had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the entire experience. Definitely a must-do if you are spending time in Reykjavik!

5.00My father and I had our last day of out trip as a free day (aka no tours booked). We walked around Reykjavik and enjoyed the lucky day of sunshine and no rain but still wanted to do a little more! We remembered hearing about a lava tour and thought why not go! We bought tickets for the show online about 2 hours before and then walked from downtown. Max was our guide and he did a fantastic job making it a learning experience but with a little fun. I'm glad we did it and if you have the time add the show to your itinerary.

5.00Much more educational than I thought and I really appreciated that. I went into this thinking it would be more of a spectacle, but the video shown covers much of Iceland's volcanic history while the "show" portion covered the properties of lava and was much more in-depth than I imagined. I'm not sure that the premium experience is worth it, but we enjoyed having a memento of the lava show.
