Today we will take you on the impressive Guilin Longsheng tour. Please get up early and have a big breakfast. Our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel at 9am and transport you to the awe-inspiring Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (aka Longji Terraces).
Longji Rice Terraces
After a two-hour drive we will reach the entrance for the Longji Terraces where you need purchase entrance tickets for the rice terraces in Dazhai Village and then also need about a 40-minute drive. This village has the most famous and beautiful rice terraces in Longji. The Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces is a splendid agricultural spectacle with a history of more than 650 years. The most eye-catching part of the terrace cluster is the Ping'an Village Rice Terrace, which was the earliest one discovered by tourists and photographers. Numerous narrow rice fields dug along the hill slopes form terraces connected by winding flagstone trails. There are viewing platforms for visitors to view the entire terrace fields built tier upon tier. While you are there you can also experience the minority Zhuang people's traditional way of life. It is quite interesting to help them in the fields, try on their bright-colored ethnical costumes, and visit their unique stilted houses.

5.00I found myself in odd situation of having about 12 hours available to visit Guilin (flying in and out in one day) and desperately wanted to see the rice terraces. None of the tours I could find on Tripadvisor suited my needs perfectly so I added Andy using his contact number and told him when I was arriving and departing. He responded immediately and together we made a plan that hit all the highlights! The day was efficient and flexible, Andy gave us lots of options and recommendations along the way, and he was great company for myself and my husband. The car was very comfortable and we felt safe throughout. I thought the price was also very reasonable, especially considering it was a private tour. Andy had lots of knowledge and told us about all sorts of interesting things in the area, and pointed out lots of creatures and sights we wouldn't have notices on our own. I will be recommending him to anyone that visits Guilin in the future. Thanks, Andy!
