You will have the opportunity to experience local nomadic culture in an authentic way plus ride a Bactrian camel with an astonishing view over the mountains in the beautiful semi-Gobi. We'll start the day early in the morning in order to get much out of it. After a short drive, we'll make a stopover to have some snacks, coffee or tea with a beautiful view. After arrival at semi-Gobi, we'll visit the local family and get introduced nomadic culture. Then ride a camel (horse) over the sand dunes, which will be instructed by our host family. After riding a camel, traditional Mongolian lunch will be served. Then we'll explore the surroundings and make hiking over the sand dunes. We'll be on the road back to Ulaanbaatar after we enjoy the day in semi-Gobi. Plus snacks will be served on the way back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotels will be provided as well.

4.00This tour really should be done with friends and family. It's 4-5 hours driving through the Steppe. GORGEOUS scenery but the camel ride was about 30 minutes. Afterwards, we headed back to Ulaanbaatar. The guide was very animated and ready to chat. He also brought a traditional Mongolian horse ankle game and offered a prize. It was very sweet. I requested Mongolian music and I heard many lovely songs. This tour structure needed improving as it is a tremendous amount of gas for the camel excursion. The tour company should add a stop on a sheep and/or horse ranch/farm. The Steppe has many animals to see. There were also a number of small villages along the way. As a solo traveler I cannot recommend this. If you want to have a great conversation with friends or family and basically sit amd see beautiful scenery, this is for you. It's a great tour if you need a rest.

4.00There were four people in my group, a driver and a guide (Bat) - all very pleasant. We drove a long distance to touch a sampling of almost “Gobi”desert. Stopped at several roadside malls which gave a nice cultural flavor (horses being trucked around; winter hay trucks; people in their traditional clothing; a nice lunch of lamb and noodles, etc. we visited a yurt and had a very nice camel ride. We also stopped for coffee on a hilltop for a fabulous view of the country. Everything was good but might choose a different trip next time or go further and stay overnight to see much more.

4.00Great guide, stunning scenery, wonderful camel ride, LONG drive! I did not appreciate that the drive would be 4 hours out and about 5 hours back (with UB traffic). Still, if you have not seen Mongolia's landscapes, worth a numb-bum.

4.00Long day of driving on bumpy roads but there is no other way to get to the South Gobi and it’s part of the experience. Guide was friendly efficient and attentive. If you prefer comfort chose a company with a Land Cruiser!

4.00On the way to Semi Gobi you see all the Mongolian Grassland. It is fantastic. The trip is long because of traffic jam in the city centre. But it is worth it. Thanks
Comfortable scenic journey to the sand dunes

5.00Our guide Orta and his driver did a fabulous job and provided us with a great experience exploring the Mongolian countryside. We were picked up on time in a very comfortable and clean vehicle. Our guide provided us with some great information about the country and culture and pointed out various things throughout the drive, which made the 4.5+ hours drive each way go by faster. He even taught us some traditional Mongolian games that we played in the car. Orta picked us up some snacks and drinks for the car, and we had a breakfast picnic in a scenic spot as well. At mini gobi, we had a great timing riding camels and getting a glimpse into the nomadic lifestyle and a ger. The drive is definitely part of the journey and incredible scenic and we had a VIP experience! On the way back we stopped for a delicious Mongolian lunch in a clean modern restaurant and had ample opportunities for bathroom breaks, all of which were clean and well maintained. We started at 8am and were back before 730pm. Overall a great way to explore!

5.00Excellent opportunity to see countryside out side city. Wide diversity of agriculture Fascinating to see countless herda of free raging horses, cattle, gats and other livestock. Enjoyed my first Camel ride on the semi-Gobi sand dunes.
