  The Saigon River Cruise offers a more authentic, local-style boat experience rather than a polished luxury boat, which some travellers may appreciate. The boat itself is fairly simple and the seating area can feel a little cramped once passengers are onboard, although the opening roof was definitely a highlight and made the journey much more enjoyable with fresh air and better views of the skyline. Drinks are available to purchase onboard and guests can also bring their own beverages, (except for alcoholic drinks). The cruise itself was pleasant enough for a relaxing ride along the river, but the overall experience felt like it missed opportunities to be more engaging. The commentary throughout the cruise was fairly limited, with long gaps of silence that could have been better used to share stories, history, landmarks, or interesting facts about Ho Chi Minh City and the river itself. For the price paid, the experience delivered slightly below average value overall. It’s not a bad activity if you have spare time and want a gentle view of the city from the water, but it may not fully meet expectations if you’re looking for something more immersive or memorable.

  Relaxing and informative. Lovely way to spend an hour. Staff very helpful and friendly too. The beer available on board was a nice touch.

  Great boat ride. Superb view and a very good guide who explains the buildings. I did the tour in the evening, and everything looked amazing when illuminated! Super nice cushions on the boat.

  Good way to chill for an hour, have a beer, see a view of the city you can only see from the river, and learn a bit about HCMC.
