This tour will take you to not only tourist attractions, but also to nice Japanese-style streets and back alleys. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Many places in Kyoto such as temples and taxis do not accept credit cards. Please be sure to have some Japanese yen ready before joining the tour.

＊On very hot summer days, it is recommended to change to Plan B course, which requires fewer steps and takes you to Chishakuin Temple( a hidden gem indoor temple) and Sanjusangendo Temple(famous for a forest of Buddhist statues).

The cab can accommodate four people. 3 guests + a guide, so if there are 4 guests, two taxis are required.

It was an amazing and informative tour. We are a family of four and we had a dedicated tour guide. Our guide, Mieko-san, was so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. She took the time to share the history and background. She spoke English really well. She stayed with us for almost 10 hours to show us all the sites in detail. Thank you for making today memorable for our family, Mieko-san!

Akemi was fantastic! She was kind, engaging, had a great sense of humor and was SO efficient. She made the entire day fun, informative and she tailored it to our interests. Akemi spent time explaining the history and meaning behind everything that we saw. Majority of the facts I don’t feel like we would have learned otherwise which made everything we saw more impactful. I can’t imagine a better way to see top sites. We covered a tremendous amount of ground - a full day- but never felt rushed. I highly recommend adding the option for meeting at your hotel, it meant we weren’t stressed about finding the tour starting point, even though it would probably have been easy. With Akemi we easily navigated even the most crowded spots and she always guided us to the best positions for to photos. We even had time for a delicious lunch and able to stop in a few shops. I can’t recommend Akemi and this tour enough, she was amazing and the sites we visited were stunning!! Don’t miss this tour!

Olive was a wonderful tour guide and helped us see 10 of the best spots of Kyoto! Started the day by greeting us in our hotel lobby and then we were on our way to our first spot! The extensive knowledge she had for each place was very appreciated and you could tell she loves the history and details for each spot we visited. The taxi transportation and train service was easy to maneuver and get through! Her recommendation for lunch was excellent. There’s a lot to see and learn in one day but she did it all and continued to be excited after each spot. Her care for safety and making sure we were having a great time was a nice touch to the tour! Highly recommend this tour for anyone spending a short or long time in the Kyoto area.
