After breakfast in the hotel, you will have a private guided tour of Marrakech Medina with an official guide from Marrakech. You will see the famous Mosque of Koutoubia
Bahia Palace
This 150-room palace was home to slave-turned-vizier Abu ‘Bou’ Ahmed, who spared no expense in its gorgeous decoration. The painted, gilded ceilings, polychrome zellige tiling and carved stucco still have the intended effect – which is just ‘wow’
El Badi Palace
The epic ruins of Sultan Ahmed el-Mansour’s once-magnificent palace, set within sunken gardens and surrounded by epic ramparts whose decrepit towers boast panoramic views over the medina.
Jemaa el-Fnaa
The vast open square at the heart of the medina is one of Marrakech’s biggest attractions and is a Unesco world heritage site. Expect snake charmers, street entertainers and over-enthusiastic henna artists at every turn.
Jardin Majorelle
Created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, this botanical garden is home to more types of cacti than you can shake a terrarium at, and has a stunning indigo blue art deco house as its centrepiece.
Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech
The French designer loved spending time in Marrakech so much he actually bought Jardin Majorelle in 1980. Opened next door to the gardens in 2017, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent is dedicated to Yves’s couture legacy and has a permanent display of hundreds of garments spanning his 40-year career.

High Atlas Mountains
Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8 o´clock in the morning, and depart to the High Atlas, subrange of Moroccan Atlas Mountains, going through Tizi N´Tichka pass with stops for panoramic views and taking pictures of the Berber small villages that camouflage in the landscape.
Ait Ben Haddou
Then we continue south to the ksar (fortified village) of Aït Ben Haddou where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous films have been shot in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz…etc. Free time for lunch in town.
Taourirt Kasbah
Then we continue to Ouarzazate also known as “The gate of the desert” that in berber language means “noiseless or without confusion”. Here we´ll see the Taourirt kasbah, one of the most spectacular ksars in Morocco
Vallee Des Roses
. The next site to visit is the Rose Valley going through the big Skoura palm grove, a beautiful place to contemplate more than 700.000 palms and numerous kasbahs that are built in the surrounding area. In this Valley damascenes roses are raised for cosmetic use such as the valued rosewater. The Rose Festival is held here annually in May, it is an important moussem for Moroccan culture.
Finally, we reach the Dades valley where we´ll spend the night.

DINNER
Dinner
After breakfast in the hotel, drive back through the valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the still standing 19thcentury Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and after some stops on the way we´ll reach the Todra Gorges. The scenery is spectacular. At the Gorge you’ll walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Local people live in the area and can be seen in their adobe villages.
Fossiles d'Erfoud
After a short walk in the Todra gorges continuing our trip to Erfoud and Rissani where we’ll have lunch and afterwards we’ll leave for the village of Merzouga. On the afternoon you will have a camel ride
Merzouga Desert

BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Errachidia
Very early in the morning we have a “Date with the sunrise”. In the middle of the desert, waking up early is a “must do” to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you´ve ever seen at the top of a dune close to the camp. After having breakfast, we return to Merzouga on the camels and we start our trip to the north, through the Tafilalet palm grove, the biggest in the world. You´ll see thousands of palm trees along the 20km of road. This way leads us to the Ziz valley, which river comes down from the high Atlas and feeds the palm grove. Here we make a stop and from this high viewpoint, enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the town of Aoufous
Midelt
We make another stop in Midelt, just in the heart of the Atlas where you´ll have free time for lunch and rest for a while
Azrou Cedar Forest
In the afternoon we continue our way through the Cedar forest where, if we are lucky, we´ll see some monkeys.
Ifrane
The next place we´ll visit is the city of Ifrane, situated in the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above the water level. Its broad avenues, its urban development with perfect cleanness, the gardens, the green areas and its architecture make this city look like a Swiss town. Ifrane feels misplaced in Morocco. That's why it´s named the Moroccan Switzerland, and if that´s not enough it has an important ski resort, Michlifen.
Fes el-Bali
About 6 pm we arrive at Fez and check in the hotel/riad.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast
Medina of Fez
After breakfast you will meet with a local tourist guide to explore Fez, the most ancient and holy of the Imperial cities. Your cultural and historic tour will take you through the 2000 year old living medina. A labyrinth of narrow streets, alive with markets and souks, craftsmen, donkeys and mules transporting their loads. Visit the Attarine and Bou Anania Medersas (Islamic universities), the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. Finish your tour with a visit to Fes Jdid, and the revered Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view of Fes
Al Quaraouiyine, built in 859BCE by Fatima al-Fihri, is believed to be one of the oldest universities in the world. It now operates as a mosque and cannot be entered by non-Muslims. However, its library, renovated in 2016, is open to the public, and you can get a glimpse of the impressive, handmade tilework dating back to the 9th century. You can also get a perfect view of the mosque courtyard from the rooftops of nearby restaurants in the medina.
Chouara Tannery
his is the most iconic place in Fez, and the oldest tannery in the world, where they still operate as they did in medieval times. Here, men make leather in a massive tannery surrounded by houses and shops. The smell of the dyeing process can get rather intense, so take a scarf to cover your nose (or they will give you mint leaves to rub under it). This is a great place to buy your leather souvenirs.
Bou Inania Medersa
Right at the entrance of the old medina lies the former theological college for Muslim intellectuals. Built by Sultan Bou Inan in the 14th century, it has been beautifully restored, featuring incredible mosaics, carved plaster, cedar mashrabiyas (lattice screens) and impressively large doors. The inside is splendid, with a fountain in the courtyard and endless, handcarved walls and zellij(mosaic) tilework. It also has rooms on two floors, where classes used to be taught.
Marinid Tombs
These tombs house the skeletal remains of sultans and other royals of the Merenid dynasty. Although not intact, and most of the decorations and engravings have faded throughout the years, you can still see the authenticity of the architecture. The climb up the hill is definitely worth it for the view over the 1,200-year-old medina, especially at sunset. Just don’t stay too long after nightfall, as the descent can get difficult in the dark
Fes el-Jdid
Mellah became a Jewish quarter in the 14th century and Fes el-Jdid became a refuge for the Jewish community and was originally home to 250,000 Jews. Since the creation of the state of Israel, however, only a handful now remain – and they are in the Ville Nouvelle. Mellah is full of history and Jewish-style architecture, such as the Ibn Danan synagogue located in the heart of the Mellah, where some buildings housed people up until the late 20th century.

At first sight, it appears as though this tower fell and split in half. However it was never actually completed. Started by the Almohads, Hassan Tower was intended to be the minaret for what the ruler, Yacoub al-Mansour, intended to be a majestic mosque. The beautiful and intricate designs on the tower, as well as the open and intriguing surroundings make it a a must-see. Just opposite lies a beautiful tomb of King Mohammad V and his two sons. The tomb is open to even non-Muslims. Visitors will be entranced by the gold-leaf ceiling and captivating carvings that lie inside the plain white building.
Kasbah des Oudaias
Occupying the oldest part of Rabat, Kasbah des Oudaias lies as the original site of the city, complete with stunning river and ocean views. Now a predominantly residential area, it is a peaceful and beautiful place to wander around the narrow, white-washed streets, some painted a refreshing blue. Enter through the original grand door of the city and explore the dainty and characterful streets to get an insight into historical life in Rabat.
Hassan II Mosque

We contacted Gboo Morocco Tours for a senior-friendly tour in Morocco, and it was truly the best choice we could have made. We are a couple in our 80s and reached out to Abdelhadi, who was incredibly responsive, professional, and very patient while answering our many questions by email and later through WhatsApp calls. We requested affordable luxury accommodation and informed him of my husband's mobility challenges. Abdelhadi carefully selected beautiful, traditional riads that were not only authentic but also comfortable and accessible. Since we preferred not to do the camel ride, he arranged a 4WD transfer to the desert camp for us. The camp itself was very comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms and hot water, a real luxury in the desert. Our driver, Aissam, was extremely knowledgeable about Morocco. We learned so much about the culture and history during our journey. He was friendly, punctual, and truly passionate about his work. We highly recommend Gboo Morocco Tours, especially if you're looking for a well-organized tour tailored to senior travelers.

Morocco trip 03-2024 - Part 1: Gboo Morocco Tours Travel Agency What a FANTASTIC experience! We just returned from 10 days in Morocco. Abdelhadi, the General Manager, customized our itinerary which included all our requests. This was a cultural immersion experience, not just a tour. It was our first time in Morocco. We were a group of 5 people with an age difference of 70 years. Each of us had a marvelous time! All of our accommodations were unique and extremely comfortable with welcoming, helpful staff. I highly recommend Gboo Morocco Tours if you’re considering a trip to Morocco. They go “above and beyond”. Pre-travel: Abdelhadi answered my many email questions promptly and clearly. As the senior member or our group (age 70+) arriving a few days before the others, before traveling, I had concerns about safety, cultural tradition/respect (we traveled during Ramadan), money exchange and many other topics. His responses were always thorough and alleviated my concerns. We requested an itinerary addition just a few days before our trip. Abdelhadi was flexible and added it in. We were extremely grateful for that experience. Highlights of our adventure: -Marrakech: Riads (magnificent, comfy accommodations), Souks (markets), Tannery. Cooking class: Outstanding experience and introduction to Moroccan spices. We ate the yummy chicken tagine and seffa meal which we prepared. Food – delicious tagine, pastries, bread, fresh squeezed orange juice, olives and of course, mint tea every day. Our Guide, Hamid, had excellent English and an in-depth knowledge and passion for their history, architecture and culture. He added spontaneous short stops at specific shops as we requested. Majorelle Botanical gardens: Beautiful Bahia Palace and Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School tour: I imagined what it would be like to live in those eras and the skill of those who constructed these spectacular buildings. All of the above achieved in 1 rich & busy day Ouzoud Falls – picturesque hike and a chance to row a boat right under the falls. (Note: It was helpful to use my hiking sticks for the steep parts.) -Sahara Desert and camel ride: Our journey by van was long but included many scenic stops and a walk through the Todra Gorge. Accommodations in the tent village were spacious and comfortable. Sunrise in the desert and a morning camel ride started an unforgettable day. -Fez: Our drive in the northern areas was much greener than any of us expected. Farms, forests, mountains, monkeys and even snow! Excellent guide: “The Candy Man”, who shared his passion for their culture, history and life of his brothers and sisters. Again, our guide was flexible and added stops as requested by my daughter-in-law. Ceramics & mosaic co-op tour: Observed production from start to finish. Magnificent craftsmen & women Our riad staff invited us to break the Ramadan fast with them in the evening. An opportunity to experience friendship and fellowship together. -Chefchaouen – the blue village: WOW! A “must-see” experience. I feel fortunate to have spent an opportunity to spend an afternoon here. -Atlas Studios: Desert filming location for many movies. Very cool! Morocco trip 03-2024 - Part 2: Aissam (our driver) Gboo Morocco Tours: There aren’t enough superlatives to describe our experience with Aissam! He was not just our driver. He became an intricate member of our Moroccan adventure and is now like a member or our extended family. He went above and beyond at every step of the way. His English is excellent. He has a contagious smile and enthusiasm. Aissam shared his knowledge of history, geography and cultural differences of the regions we visited. He always made great recommendations for restaurants. His flexibility was appreciated when we had specific activities or products to purchase. His hospitality was enormous. When I had the opportunity to sit in the front seat, I enjoyed our conversations. We exchanged ideas about many aspects of our lives and activities – lots of laughs, too. We were all greatly appreciative of a last-minute visit to the home of a henna tattoo artist. This delighted my 5 year-old granddaughter. That’s hospitality! Finally, we experienced unusually severe weather (sandstorm and downpour rain). I greatly appreciated Aissam’s skill at delivering us to our destinations safely. If you travel to Morocco via Gboo Travel Tours, you will be fortunate to have Aissam as your driver and travel companion/advisor. In summary, if you’re considering a trip to Morocco, I highly recommend Gboo Morocco tours. – And if you’re lucky enough to have Aissam as your driver, you’ll have a molto-fantastica, fun and memorable experience.

5 STAR meal & experience with the most inviting, serene, & caring service in a truly stunning building. Special mention for the gorgeous welcome by Mr. Hassan who came to end of the byzantine lane to fine me; And also to Mr. RABIE & food and wine service with RABIE who shared so much time and info on Moroccon fare and wine . The 3-course meal of delicious prawns after a amuse-bouche was far more than amusing. Considering that I come from a different part of the Atlantic on the Kerry Coast of SW Ireland and now live on Irish Sea coast - the wild seabass was the best I have ever. Simple & perfect. Dessert would need it own page. I will return to Marrakesh for this experience and the charming nearby Riad Azad.

I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service and attention to detail provided by Gboo Morocco Tours. From the moment we arrived in Casablanca, we were greeted by friendly and knowledgeable tour guides who were eager to share their love and passion for the country with us. Throughout the tour, we visited a range of cities and destinations, including Rabat, Asilah, Chefchaouen, Fez, the Sahara Desert, and Marrakech. Each stop offered a unique and unforgettable experience, from the stunning blue-washed buildings of Chefchaouen to the bustling markets of Marrakech. One of the highlights of the tour was our visit to the Sahara Desert, where we rode camels across the dunes to spend the night in a traditional Berber camp. The experience was truly magical, and Ahmed our driver made sure that everything was taken care of, from setting up our tents to providing delicious meals and entertainment. Throughout the tour, the accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the transportation was smooth and efficient. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and engaging, offering insights into the history and culture of each destination. Overall, I would highly recommend Gboo Morocco Tours to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Morocco. The level of service and attention to detail was exceptional, and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you, Gboo Morocco Tours, for an incredible 12 days in Morocco!

Wow! What a great adventure! We chose Gboo Tours because they specialize in private LGBTQ tours of Morocco. As a gay couple, we thought it would be best to book through a tour company to make sure we had no problems. Abdelhadi, the owner, talked us through all options and booked us with guides and in hotels/riads that were LGBTQ friendly. And it was true! Our driver for 12 days, Jalal, was amazing and funny! None of the lodgings batted an eye at two men asking for one bed. We never felt unsafe at any time on our tour. So on that alone, Gboo gets 5 stars! Being 12 days, we never drove more than 5 hours a day (which is what we wanted). Our favorite was the overnight in the riad in the desert followed by a camel trek to the luxury camp. All the accommodations were luxurious and felt special. We stopped twice to see monkeys! The only small criticism is that sometimes the local guides felt like they were taking us to touristy restaurants and places. One restaurant in Fez was so overpriced compared to everything else we at in Morocco. But besides that! It was amazing! We learned so much about Morocco, the culture, the religion, and the people.

We just got back from a tremendous tour of Morocco. I’ll concur with much of what other travelers have said previously. Abdelhadi is incredibly prompt, professional and invested in making our time in Morocco enjoyable. The riads we stayed in were all first rate - friendly staff, great breakfasts, and well positioned within the various cities we stayed. The itinerary was ambitious but also flexible based on our needs/wants. We had full day guides in Marrakech and Fes, and it was clear that Gboo had a network of knowledgeable, professional guides to help us make the most of our time. Finally and most importantly: our driver, Muhammad, was exceptional. Kind, thoughtful, prompt, safe, willing to answer all of our random questions about Morocco, and took care of our family as his own during our stay. Looking forward to working with Gboo tours on our next Moroccan adventure!
