It’s a long day ahead today. You start in the early morning from Phakding finding yourself sometimes left and sometimes right of the Dudhkoshi river. You will pass through several high steel cable suspension bridges. You will often find yourself face to face with yaks, FedEx of the mountains. Make sure to make way for them. Most of today’s trek is moderate. You will find gentle inclines and declines while you pass through pine and rhododendron forests and villages like Thulo Gumela, TokTok, and Benkar. You will enter Sagarmatha National Park from Jorsalle. It is home to endangered species like red panda and snow leopard. The next milestone in our route is the Hillary Bridge, named after Edmund Hillary. From here, you will start a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar (11286 ft./3440 m.) which will take you around 2 to 3 hours. Tonight, you will stay in the biggest town in the Everest region.

You'll be prepared to resume traveling after taking a day and a half to recover in Namche. The trail today starts with a steep climb followed by a somewhat moderate trek for a while. For the initial part of the trek, the views are stunning. As you move towards Phungithanga through Sanasa, you will find several Sherpa communities quietly going about their everyday lives. The nice trail abruptly changes into a harder ascent once you pass Phungithanga. The trail continues steeply through the dense rhododendron woodland and after 2.5 hours of climbing, you will reach the beautiful Tengboche monastery. Tenzing Norgay, the first person to reach the summit, was born nearby and served as a monk in the Tengboche monastery. The monastery and the surrounding locality are worth exploring.

You will find yourself at the foot of the Khumbu Glacier, the highest glacier in the world. This is where the steep climb starts along the glacial path to the top of the Dughla Pass (4830 m.) Continue on the steep path paying respects to the shrines created in honor of the fallen mountaineers like Rob Hall and Scott Fischer to reach Lobuche village. My father and I met Rajesh Magar at the hotel and were immediately struck by his infectious smile. From there his enthusiasm and competence allowed us to successfully reach Everest Base Camp and make core lifetime memories along the way. I will be back next climbing season to try a Himalayan peak and wouldn’t do it with anyone else

I made my way to base camp with this company, and I'm very happy. Your guides are quality, certified; I went with Gopal and I couldn’t be more careful: I solved any problems and unexpected quickly and effectively. Not only does it guide you and tell you the names and history of the mountains, I also learned a lot about the culture of the country. He is an open and willing guide to talk and answer questions at all times. Don't hesitate to ask for him, I'm very grateful.

I did the Everest Base Camp trip with my brother and it was truly amazing. The scenery was magnificient, really feels like you're inside a painting the throught the entire time. I have to thank our guide, Narayan Ntc for everything, he was amazing... Really nice guy, easy to talk to, helped me a lot when I got sick during the trip, making sure I was able to reach base camp. He was helped by Chanak our porter and same thing, really nice guy, always with a smile on his face... Again, amazing experience. Thank you so much!

This is one of the best treks that I have taken part in. Was told the original group consisted of 7 trekkers but when the trek started on 15 March 2025, it was only me because one has pulled out and 5 others have changed their plans to scale other mountains instead of EBC. This became a "private tour" for me with a trek leader and a porter. My trek leader is Gopal Timalsina. He is a very wonderful, young and energetic person, a great and caring lead. He knew his path / route to EBC very well. He shared lots of his trekking and life experiences with me during the trek. I have learnt a lot from him whenever we sat down to rest or have our meals. He doesn't rush me when I have slowed down but waited patiently when I need to stop to rest and was so willing to adjust the plan to accommodate me when I couldn't continue my trek to the destination based on schedule by making an extra night stop along the way so I could have a good night rest before continuing our journey. Gopal is resourceful and ensure all your accommodations are ready when I arrived at each destination. He also ensured all my ordered meals and drinks were served on my dining table. Gopal has also gone the extra miles to bring me to the post office higher in the area in Namche Bazaar for me to send a postcard home. When I returned to Kathmandu after the trek, Gopal has also made sure everything was in order till my departure day. He took me out for a cultural show and dinner on the eve of my departure day and also arranged a transport at the hotel to take me to the airport. I would like to highly recommend Gopal to anyone who is looking for a great trek leader to help you fulfill your EBC dreams. Thank you, Gopal.

I have done lots of research online, and so confused which treks company to choose for the EBC trek and chola pass (gokyo). With some good reviews that I have found on the internet I choose the himalayan scenery and in fact it is way better than the review. The response that was given by the operation manager Naresh Dahal was so swift and clear. When in doubt he gave so clear information and also gives best advice on anything that was asked. I was bit worried about the guide/portar that this company is going to provide. Upon booking the trek with this company Naresh has assured me that the he has provided one of the best guide/portar and indeed our guide/portar Shukra magar he was phenomenal, honest, friendly and smily guy. This was one of the best things that Naresh has provided out of many things. Shukra can bring prosperous to this company if he is invested properly as he is doing porter most of the time. If this company give him an opportunity to do the guide course and some advanced english course then he can be definitely one of the very best guide in this company. There is always a work on point regardless of how excellent the company is. From my perspective it could have been lot better if they can book the pre hotel by company during the peak season as it was bit hard to get accommodation on Lobuche .Again shukra has been phenomenal and has used his initiative to book the hotel in advance. When we do the trek again then I would definitely choose this company and would choose Shukra Magar over any guide. I would love to see shukra as full guide when we come back to do the trek again.

By far the best Trekking experience in the Himalayas! From the very first day the team was friendly and accomodating to our every needs. We were very well looked after and with every aspect from extra gear i needed to purchase to helping me reach the goal of EBC. Nothing was ever too much or too hard for the team to achieve. Our guide Gopal is the very BEST in the business! Gopal made my trip! He was accommodating to my every need. From getting us the best rooms in all the tea houses along the way to making sure i was healthy and happy and showing me the best way to traverse this great landscape with his wealth of knowledge and expertise. Without him i would have most definitely contracted altitude sickness, but i listened to his advice at every turn and i ascended EBC happy and healthy. Without a doubt i can’t recommend Gopal and the team highly enough. These guys really made my trip and so much so i am bringing all my friends back next year to do 3 valley pass. The best thing i found is the team really ran such a professional operation and every detail was thoroughly thought out and organised in such a fashion that nothing was left to chance. Just the perfect experience and so happy i chose Himalayan Scenery treks and expedition for my trip to Nepal.

Bikram, my guide, was simply amazing! I’m a fast hiker, and Bikram recognized that I wouldn’t be content going slow and starting late. We got up early all days, and skipped the planned lunch spots (as we would get to them at 0800-0900 😂). He made sure to check in with me often to make sure I was feeling well with the altitude. I didn’t plan in any buffer days so when my original flight from Kathmandu to Lukla was canceled and rescheduled for the next day, he adjusted our itinerary to skip one of the planned acclimatization days (as long as I was feeling OK) to ensure I could make my flight home. I was feeling good with the altitude and making great time, so Bikram further adjusted the itinerary to skip both planned acclimatization days and reach further destinations each day (which made me very happy and helped build in further buffer days for the Lukla flight back to Kathmandu, which also ended up being canceled. Even when flights were canceled, Naresh in the home office quickly adjusted tickets and made sure all logistics were covered. All in all, I was able to do the 12 day EBC trek in 8 days—Bikram adjusted the entire trip to my needs/wants and I felt so taken care of! You won’t go wrong booking with Himalayan Scenery Treks!

Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition planned a perfect Everest Base Camp Trek, complete with all coordinated flights and transfers; a wonderful week in Kathmandu, with cultural tours and a beautiful hotel; and a last-minute 3 day safari to Chitwan National Park! Ramkrishna's entire staff in Nepal was kind and so helpful! And being from US, having Elizabeth Aguirre as a stateside liason brought me great peace of mind that this trip of a lifetime was in the best hands.

Gopal was an amazing guide! He knew as much as you possibly can about Sagarmatha National Park. From the obscure mountains in the distance and tips about the best ways to spend acclimatization days, Gopal didn’t disappoint. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
