Starting from your hotel, this walking adventure begins on a most unique discovery & orientation tour ever offered of Paris! It's called your 1st Day in Paris Tour because this 2 hour plus experience focuses on providing you freedom with knowledge of how to do Paris while at the same time you are enjoying as many sights as possible.
So much more than just facts & figures, the tour immerses you in to the Paris culture providing the visitor with understanding how things work, how to get around, what areas are safe, buying tickets, riding the buses & metro, protecting yourself from pickpockets, ordering at a café, or a bakery.
Of course you get to do amazing sightseeing, find hidden gems, quaint neighbourhoods and pass by the top must-see monuments, museums and parks in all of Paris which may include the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées, Montmartre, Louvre, Marais, Opéra, Places, Notre-Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Montparnasse and more.

If we make it here then we enter the oldest church in Paris. And we pass by the famous café where Emily in Paris and Hemingway have their hot chocolates.
Latin Quarter
We explore hidden gems that are all about the Latin Quarter. Depending on time we will see the famous cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, its 1000 year old church, medieval streets, and monuments, even a Picasso sculpture.

5.00We had an amazing experience with Thor as our tour guide in Paris! He met us at our hotel and expertly guided us through the main areas of the city, making sure we got familiar with the metro system along the way. Thor was not only knowledgeable and professional, but also super fun and easy to hang out with. He went above and beyond by staying in touch throughout our trip to answer any questions we had and continued to provide recommendations for places to visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide - I highly recommend him for anyone visiting Paris for the first time!

5.00Thor was prompt meeting us at our apartment, and we quickly started exploring our neighbourhood. Since we had plans to use the subway and the train, he made sure we knew how get tickets, read the maps, use the posted information at the stops, and get to where we were going. He also gave us excellent information on how to avoid pickpockets and scams. It was like having a friend to show you the ropes in Paris!
How to Travel Around Paris

5.00Thor was an interesting guide who explained how to traverse the city by bus and train. He showed us how and where to buy tickets and read the maps. We also walked to a beautiful church that wasn't on our radar and well as to Galleries Lafayette, a huge and beautiful department store with a lovely domed ceiling and rooftop view of the city. He left us at a location of our choice with recommendations for a quick lunch before our going on with our day.

5.00Our tour guide was so patient and kind. We arrived the same day and we were fighting jet lag and he worked with us. He showed us around, gave us tips on restaurants and he introduced us to the metro. We have used the metro everyday since and it has been a lifesaver. I’m not sure we would have been comfortable enough to use if without this tour.

5.00After extensive planning for our week’s trip to Paris, we decided to book the aptly named ’first day orientation’ tour with Thor. It did not disappoint! Thor coached us on every necessity, from metros to buses and all sorts of transportation, using ATMs, avoiding petty crime—anything we could think to ask, he was prepared to guide us. Additionally, he peppered in fascinating tales of French history that brought our locations to life. Indeed, it was the most ideal manner in which to begin a special journey, and our family appreciated Thor’s insight and wisdom very much. Book without hesitation! But, book early. He is busy, highly in-demand guide for good reason!
Thor gave us a great introduction to using public transportation in Paris.

5.00If you are intimidated at the thought of finding your way around Paris using public transportation, look no further than Thor! He took us around the city using RER train, Metro subway trains, and city bus. He gave us the scoop on using taxis, Uber, and Bolt. He showed us how to buy the rechargeable Navigo cards, how to read the transit maps, and all this with us senior citizens who have very little experience with urban train systems. Our 13 yr old Goddaughter paid close attention to him and between the three of us we were then able to travel around the city and to Normandy on our own!

4.00Great tour to get us ready to tackle the mass transit system by ourselves. He gave us lots of useful tips on how to conduct ourselves, how to order in a restaurant, and helped us with good apps to use for getting around. Highly recommend!

5.00Our personal tour guide, Thor, met us at our hotel in Ile Saint Louis. He helped us find the meeting spots for our future tours, showed us around St. Germaine, interesting spots, and taught us cafe etiquette. He showed us how to navigate the metro. He answered our questions and concerns about navigating Paris. It was so worth it. I felt like I saw parts of Paris that would often be missed by tour groups. He provided us with interesting historical tidbits about the revolution and Henry the fourth’s concerns about fire in Paris, or the cafe where Hemingway and his literary buddies hung out. It was a walking and informative adventure. Thank you, Thor. You helped us navigate our way to our Paris adventure.
