Bishkek
Bishkek – Burana Tower Our guide will meet the guests in Bishkek and begin the journey to Burana Tower, located approximately 1.5 hours away. Along the route, guests can enjoy views of rural landscapes and traditional Kyrgyz villages.
Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyon
Upon arrival, guests will explore the historic Burana Tower, a 10th-century minaret and one of the oldest architectural monuments in Kyrgyzstan. The site includes ancient balbals (stone figures), petroglyphs, and a small museum showcasing artifacts from the Karakhanid era. Guests can also climb the tower for panoramic views of the Chüy Valley.
Boom Gorge
Next, we will continue to Boom Gorge, a stunning natural landmark carved by the Chu River. Known for its dramatic cliffs and lush landscapes, the gorge offers a scenic drive through rugged terrain, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It’s a perfect spot for photos and appreciating the raw beauty of Kyrgyzstan’s nature.
Orto-Tokoy Water Reservoir
On the way to Bokonbaevo, we will stop at Orto-Tokoy Reservoir, the first artificial reservoir in Kyrgyzstan. Surrounded by arid hills and steppe landscapes, it provides a striking contrast to the lush mountain scenery of the region. This stop offers a great opportunity to take photos and appreciate the reservoir’s role in local agriculture and water supply.
Arriving in Bokonbaevo, a picturesque village on the south shore of Issyk-Kul, guests will witness a traditional eagle hunting demonstration. A local berkutchi (eagle hunter) will showcase the centuries-old art of hunting with golden eagles, offering insights into this fascinating nomadic tradition. After the eagle show, guests will settle into a guesthouse or yurt camp for an overnight stay, enjoying the warm hospitality of the local community and a homemade Kyrgyz dinner.

After breakfast at the yurt camp in Bokonbaevo, we begin our journey to Fairy Tale Canyon. The drive follows the scenic south shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, offering beautiful views of the water and surrounding mountains along the way.
Canyon Fairy Tale
Fairy Tale Canyon, also known as Skazka Canyon, is famous for its colorful, naturally sculpted rock formations resembling castles, animals, and other shapes. Guests can enjoy a short, easy hike through the canyon and take in the stunning views of Issyk-Kul Lake and the surreal landscape shaped by wind and time.
Barskoon Gorge
Next, we visit Barskoon Gorge, one of the most beautiful gorges on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Surrounded by dense pine forests and alpine scenery, the gorge is known for its serene atmosphere and striking natural beauty. Along the way, you’ll see monuments like the Yuri Gagarin memorial and enjoy the refreshing mountain air.
Barskoon Waterfall
Within the gorge, we’ll take a short hike to the Barskoon Waterfall, one of the most scenic waterfalls in the region. Surrounded by fir trees and rocky cliffs, the waterfall offers a perfect spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.
Bishkek
After exploring Barskoon, we will begin our journey back to Bishkek, enjoying a lunch stop on the way. The drive offers more scenic views of Issyk-Kul and the surrounding landscapes, providing a relaxing end to our two-day adventure.

It was a wonderful Yurt stay experience. Canyon walk was amazing. Boating in the lake was fabulous. We took many pictures. The tour operator, Mr.Nuraly is very good, he helped us with ordering vegetarian food, took many family pictures and we had a wonderful tour experience with his company!
