Along the way, you’ll pass the famous town of Hveragerði, known for its greenhouses and the geothermal “Hot River” in Reykjadalur, nestled in a rift valley between the Eurasian and North American continental plates.
Selfoss
The tour passes through Selfoss, the largest town and capital of South Iceland. You’ll see this lively hub as you continue your journey along the route.

You’ll get a close-up view of Seljalandsfoss, a stunning waterfall that drops 60 meters from the side of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. This powerful cascade offers a unique and breathtaking experience for all visitors.
Gljufrabui Waterfalls
Gljufrabui is a hidden waterfall that many visitors overlook. We’ll guide you to this secret spot so you won’t miss its stunning beauty!
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull
Don’t miss the chance to learn about Eyjafjallajökull’s massive 2010 eruption. It’s the event that brought Iceland worldwide attention!
Skogafoss
Skógafoss is one of the world’s most iconic waterfalls, famously featured in “Game of Thrones.” Its south-facing location creates frequent rainbows from the mist of the 60-meter (197 feet) cascade. You can also climb to the top for stunning panoramic views, making it a must-see Icelandic landmark.
Solheimajokull Glacier
Sólheimajökull Glacier is an outlet of Mýrdalsjökull, one of Iceland’s largest glaciers. Experience the raw, stunning landscape and get up close to the glacier’s impressive ice cap.

Vik
On the second day, you’ll stop briefly in Vík Village. Take in stunning views of the black sand beach and the hills surrounding this small town.
Eldhraun Lava Field
The Eldhraun Lava Field is a vast, barren landscape covered in thick, vibrant moss that blankets ancient lava formations. This otherworldly terrain offers a striking contrast between the rugged volcanic rock and the soft greenery, creating a unique and beautiful scene.
Hofskirkja Church
Hofskirkja is the last turf church built in Iceland, dating back to the 19th century. Its thick turf roof blends seamlessly with the surrounding moss-covered burial mounds, creating a charming and historic setting.
Glacier Lagoon
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is a breathtaking, bucket-list destination featured in numerous Hollywood films. The tranquil, ever-changing scenery captivates visitors as wind and tides gently move the icebergs. You may also spot seals swimming among the ice or resting on nearby beaches.
Fellsfjara
Just a short walk from the Glacier Lagoon, you’ll find Diamond Beach, named for the countless sparkling fragments of colorful icebergs scattered across its black sand shore. These ice pieces are continuously shaped into stunning formations by the wind and waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
Vatnajokull National Park
Last but definitely not least, your tour’s highlight is the unforgettable Blue Ice Cave expedition. You’ll start with a superjeep ride to these natural ice caves, formed deep within glaciers as fresh water freezes in Iceland’s plunging winter temperatures. Every year, new caves emerge as glaciers melt, refreeze, and reshape, creating stunning formations in vibrant shades of blue. Your expert local guides will lead you to the most breathtaking ice caves, giving you a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience—these caves may never look the same again. After exploring the caves, you’ll head back to Jökulsárlón before returning to Reykjavík, with a refreshing stop in Vík along the way.

Awesome and entertaining trip showcasing a little of what’s on offer in Iceland. The time at each location was perfect, Filip got us admitted to each location quickly and he made the bus ride a great experience with the perfect amount of information, good tunes and humour. The small group of 19 was a good experience, and I Couldn’t recommend this fun day enough.

What an incredible two days! Bear was an absolutely outstanding tour guide — a fantastic driver, a trained geologist, and a natural storyteller. He brought Iceland to life through his knowledge of every mountain, glacier, lake, lagoon, and beach we passed, and kept us endlessly entertained with local lore: the puffins of the Westman Islands, his love of the glaciers, the “trash lagoon” where decades of buried waste erupted from a volcano, the trolls, the couple who met a wish-granting elf. The folklore alone was worth the trip. What really set Bear apart was how thoughtfully he approached the tour. He flipped the standard itinerary so we ended at Seljalandsfoss — a brilliant call, since finishing with that spectacular waterfall meant we ended on a high note, and anyone who got wet didn’t have to spend the rest of the day uncomfortable (most tours make it their first stop). He also guided us on the best way to experience each location — for example, visiting Gljúfrabúi before going behind Seljalandsfoss, so we stayed dry long enough to catch the rainbow shot first. We covered so much ground: Skógafoss, the glacier lagoon (where we spotted a seal!), Diamond Beach, the Justin Bieber canyon, and the lava fields. At Diamond Beach, Bear even showed us how to frame a shot using the ice — a small touch that made a big difference. To top it all off, we had glorious sunshine the entire time, which made everything even more magical. We’ve been on many tours, and Bear is genuinely one of the best guides we’ve ever had. I’ll be recommending him to everyone I know who visits Iceland — and telling them to request him by name.

We had a spectacular time on our 2 day glacier-ice cave tour with Kristof at the end of April. In fact, our glacier portion was the last visit to the ice caves allowed before the summer season. Everything about the trip was fabulous, our guide Kristof was excellent, full of tidbits about Iceland and the places we traveled. The hotel chosen was snug and cozy, with excellent food. Highly recommended!

The 2 day tour to The South Cost was rich if experiencing nature. As a first time commer, I still can not believe I saw it all with my own eyes! At some points could be more informative about the geological origins and historical facts of what we see, making more clear distinction between merchandized statistics, sagas and science 😁 But sagas are very important part of this experience, of course. All the guides are very friendly and nice. I loved that they are used to make fun of inconveniences, which seems like a part of national character. Very welcoming!
