Our 2 day Inca Trail tour to Machu Picchu is the shorter and easier way to experience the highlights of the Classic 4-day Inca Trail. On this trail you will be experiencing different microclimates as you will be descending from Andes to the cloud forest.
The route is dotted with several Inca ruins including the iconic Wiñay Wayna. You will be entering the citadel of Incas, Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate as those on the Classical Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
The trail is ideal for families with small children as you won’t be hiking through any high altitudes or will be camping. The highest point of the 2 day Inca Trail Tour is 2650 metres above sea level.
We will be accommodating you in a comfortable ensuite hotel room in Aguas Calientes town. The following day on your half day trip to Machu Picchu citadel, our guide will be walking you through the prime attractions of the citadel.

We will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning. Then in our private transport, we will be driving you along the Sacred Valley of Incas to Ollantaytambo train station. Here you will be boarding the tourist train to the trailhead in Km.104. The trail head is named after its distance from Cusco on the way to Machu Picchu. Here we will begin the full day hike. Our local expert will be helping you to cross the control where your permit to hike the Inca Trail will be verified against your passport. We will begin with a gradual uphill hike to Winay Wayna. In Quechua the name means forever young. After touring the complex, we will be stopping for lunch at the campsite. From here, we will continue hiking to Sun Gate or Inti Punku. You will be rewarded with the first site of the lost city of Incas, Machu Picchu. We will then take a bus down to Aguas Calientes town. Here we will be accommodating you in an ensuite hotel room.

The hotel crew will be handing you over a snack box. You will then be boarding a bus to Machu Picchu citadel. It takes 25 minutes. Our guide will be giving you a detailed tour of the citadel for two hours. You will be visiting some of the prime sites which will give you in-depth information about the citadel. If you have booked to climb Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu mountain our guide will be directing you to the entrance. If you intend to hike one of these mountains do advise us at the time of booking. Alternatively, you can hike to the sun gate. It offers a spectacular view of the citadel. Sungate is the point of entrance to the citadel for those on Inca Trail. You will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes. Here you will be boarding the train to Ollantaytambo. Our representative will be meeting you and will be transferring you back to your hotel in the city of Cusco. You will be reaching Cusco at approximately 09:00 PM.

5.00We had a wonderful time doing the 2 Day Inca Trail with Machu Picchu Tours. John was very kind and helped us to plan our trip a few months in advance. He also meet us once we arrived to Cusco to explained the logistics of the hiking. Luis, our trekking guide, was fun, he made us feel safe and well taken care of. My friends and I are 3 ladies in our mid forties, we recommend to do some hiking training previous to your trip. Although the trail is doable it is definitely more enjoyable if your are physically prepare. Expect a long day of riding a bus, a train and 13km hike. Plus some altitud.
Totally worth it and amazing!

5.00We did the 2 days and 1 night Inca trail. I was really surprised that everything was perfect from start to finish. We were first met to explain each step of the journey in detail. The staff is punctual. Everything was fluid and so well organized. Lunch box very good. Our guide Luis was perfect, kind, passionate, we received good explanations (no too much or little). It was nice to spend these 2 days with him. Really great experience and very high quality! I can only highly recommend! +++

5.00My husband and I just completed the 2-day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and wow, what an experience! The hike was challenging, but every step was absolutely worth it. From the stunning views to exploring ancient ruins along the way, this adventure was nothing short of magical. Our guide, Christian, was truly incredible. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly attentive, making sure we stayed informed about the history of the trail and the ruins, as well as keeping us safe and comfortable throughout the hike. His passion for the culture, nature and history of Peru was contagious, and his sense of humor kept us going through the tough parts of the trek. When we finally reached Machu Picchu and saw it through the Sun Gate, I couldn’t help but tear up. The view was breathtaking, and it was a moment I’ll never forget. Peru has now become one of my favorite places in the world, and this trail is definitely a must-do for anyone looking to experience the magic of Machu Picchu. Highly recommend this trek, and if you're lucky enough to get Christian as your guide, you're in for an unforgettable adventure

5.00The whole experience was amazing, the hike, the guide John, the weather and the view of Machu Picchu that appeared when we arrived at the Sun Gate! In the evening we got good food at a good restaurant and nice to talk with John. Day two inside the ruined city was also exciting, John was a very good storyteller.
