Very informative and enjoyable . We were the only ones on the tour, but that didn’t deter our guide. He was very accommodating and had lots of good information.

The tour was lovely, well organised and executed. We saw three of the most beautiful cities in Europe, learned so much about the history of the country, and travelled through gorgeous landscapes. Our guide Nicosur was very knowledgeable, looked after us very well, and was an excellent and safe driver. There were only 4 of us on the tour, and we really enjoyed the company of the other couple. Last but not least, it was outstanding value for money. We were told in advance that we would have to chose our own hotel, at a price that suited us, and that we had the option to pay € 45 to visit the inside of the castles.

We had a great trip with Niccoli. He was very informative and friendly. This tour is a great way to see Transylvania and the castles. There are a few things you should know if you book this tour though (and these aren’t the fault of the guide): It is your responsibility to book accommodation in Sighisoara. From reading prior reviews, I thought everyone stayed at Hotel Bulevard and you paid for your room there. This is not the case and it wasn’t clear from the trip details when booking how to handle accommodation. We knew it wasn’t included in the tour, but it wasn’t stated in the description to book ahead. We ended up staying at the Doubletree and I don’t recommend that hotel at all (not up to Doubletree standards - dirty rooms). The other thing to know is that you need to bring cash to pay for the castle entrances. The guide buys the tickets and takes you in for a tour (which was great!), and you will then pay the guide. Each castle’s entrance fee is about $22 USA, so almost 200 RON. We didn’t have enough cash and had to get money out when we got back to Bucharest. Our group was only 8 people, which was nice. The van was comfortable. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as there are lots of cobblestones and uneven walkways in the old towns.
