The highlights of Transylvania trip are Peles Royal Castle, Bran (Dracula’s) Castle, Brasov down town, Black Church, Sighisoara medieval citadel. If you are travelling to Bucharest and if you have just a limited time to discover Romania, this tour is the perfect way to visit some of the most interesting sites including the south part of the magnificent region of Transylvania.

Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. On these days, we will see the castle from outside and the gardens.

Peles Castle will be closed for general cleaning and preventive conservation from Nov 3 to Dec 2, 2025. During this period, visitors will have the opportunity to visit Pelisor Castle instead.

Peles Castle

Peles Castle is the former summer residence for the first Royal couple of Romania, King Carol 1st and Queen Elisabeth. Considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, the construction is impressive thanks to the architectural style and decorations, but most of all thanks to the beautiful interior design (interesting mixture of cultures in terms of furniture, the specific touch of the King and Queen) and the modern facilities for the last half of the XIXth century (electricity, vacuum cleaner, electrical elevator and central heating).

Brasov

Brasov or "Kronstadt (“the city of the crown”) under its German name is an old medieval citadel, first documented in 1235 and the most important commercial center from all the seven German Medieval Cities of Transylvania. Enjoy a lovely walk on the narrow and cobblestone streets of the old city center. You will see The Council Square, The Council Tower, The famous Black Church (the largest Gothic construction in Eastern part of Europe).

Sighisoara

You will start the day by visiting the citadel of Sighisoara (UNESCO Monument), the only medieval citadel in Europe which is still inhabited. Here time seems to run after other patterns, visitors feel like in a journey back time when knights and fair ladies used to fall in love before dating and freedom was the priceless treasure of the community. You will find out the story of the citadel, you will see the well preserved walls and towers of defense and admire the medieval houses aligned along narrow old streets.

The tower was built in the 14th century and expanded 200 years later. It remains the prettiest sight in town, offering a magnificent panorama from the top.

This is an old wood and stone staircase of 175 steps used by the children to reach the Hill School.

That was fantastic. The guide, Serban, very attentive, has helped us in everything we needed, explaining in a pleasant and fun way. He managed the entrances while we saw the surroundings and took pictures. A highly recommended experience, out of 10.

Mathew was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We were lucky enough to be the only ones on our tour which meant we could take it at our own pace and do what we wanted which was great and Mathew was very open to offering different options to us to make our trip unique and enjoyable. The Tour itself was great and I would definitely recommend it. For someone who visits Romania several times a year for the past 6 years it showed me that there are many different faces to Romania and a rich and interesting history that explains so much about where the Country is today.

The tour guide Loana was just fantastic and so professional during the tour and even beyond on the way back to Bucharest, even the driver was always helpful with a smiling face. We highly recommend the Two Castles one day tour organised by Travelmaker, keep up the good work.

Travelmaker helped me book train tickets for the overnight train from Bucharest to Chisinau. This was done at no commission and so was very nice of them. In addition, I booked and went on Travelmaker's two-day trip to Transilvania. This was an excellent trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and managed to keep the schedule. (I don't recommend the night train from Bucharest to Chisinau but this was no fault of Travelmaker.) The driver/guide went to great lengths to help me make the train connection at the end of the Trip to Transilvania. These guys really rock and know what they are doing.

The kind of tour for your comfortability and safety! Matthew did very well taking care of us. We are 5 Asians with different nationalities with the same van for Peles Castle, Brasov and Transylvania (Dracula Palace). Fantastic service and well equipped information as a tour/driver guide. Good job and well done Matthew!

With many thanks to Travelmaker who enriched my and my friends first Holiday experience in Romania. Everybody was very friendly and we had a good time on this 2 day trip. Hotel and Food was good and our guide had a lot of patience with us two girls who continued to mixe up the year dates of the Romanias rich and full packed history.

Our tour with Mathieu across Romania was an incredible experience. Mathieu knew a lot about Romanian history and all the places we were visiting, and he was very personable and professional throughout the entire tour. It was very well planned from start to finish. If you are in Romania for a short stay, I recommend this tour in order to see a lot of Romania in a short amount of time.

Don't take it, I feel conned. They advertise tour ads with totally false features (the guide explained absolutely nothing and did not provide audio guide in Spanish). At first they say it's in Spanish but if you read the fine print it says it's just the audio guide. Peles Castle was closed and there was no alternative to citing (as indicated in the announcement). You're cheating users and I want my money back.
Trip to palace of Little Peles in Sinaia and Draculas castle.

Our guide's name was Serban. He started the day off by being prompt and on time. He was extremely knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. He was very friendly, had a good personality and was very nice. He had a great sense of humour. Although the trip was long, he kept us informed through out the day. He really knew the countries history and was able to relay the information by weaving the time and events in a historic way, like good story tellers do. The drive showed off Romania in a positive way, the countryside was really beautiful. Paul & Terri Q

I recomend totally the excursion to this 3 city with Travel Maker and of course with the crazy guide tour man Serban Riga. The travel it was fantastic, the castle of Peles is stunning, wonderful and Transilvania too.
