Morning departure: Your tour operator will pick you up early, usually around 6 a.m., from your hotel or accommodation in Mombasa, Diani, or Nairobi. Travel and entry: You will travel in a customized safari van or 4x4 with a pop-up roof for optimal game viewing. The drive from the coast takes approximately 2.5 to 5 hours. You will arrive at a park gate, such as Bachuma, by mid-morning. Afternoon game drive: After checking into your lodge or tented camp and having lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive. This is your first opportunity to see the park's famous "red elephants," as well as lions, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalo, and hundreds of bird species. Dinner and overnight stay: You will return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay, often at a lodge overlooking a waterhole

Early morning game drive: Wake up early for breakfast and a final morning game drive. This is often the best time to spot nocturnal animals returning to their dens and predators on the hunt. Depart the park: After the game drive, you will exit the park and begin the drive back to your coastal hotel or Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon
