  It was a wonderful trip I ever had in Asia. We had a great time. No rush!111 Listen to me!11111 I will tell you later!!!!!! Is always the words in this trip. You have to find out and trust me, you will never have a best trekking trip ever if you miss this group. The Trekking leader”Appril” is a great leader. Teddy is an entertainer during the trekking. Ryan or Lion is a coolest man. I suggest you to try this adventure and you will learn more the knowledge of Orangutan, wildlife, and how to survive in the jungle.   We can highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Explore! We have been here with 2 children, 6 and 9 years. The contact in advance was very good, all questions and concerns about our children were always answered and addressed. We were picked up from the airport in a car and as predicted we covered the last few meters on a moto. SOE was super organized, there were enough motos ready to transport suitcases and guests in one go. We were worried if it might be too dangerous, but the locals already ride with babies on the moto and have a lot of experience. It was adventurous - yes, but we want to encourage other parents not to be put off by it. After a welcome drink and briefing for the planned tour, we also got help with the luggage. The food and juices in the guesthouse are incredibly delicious, we highly recommend also the fruit salad, which deserves the name fruit plate. We booked a 2 day trek with overnight stay in the jungle. We were able to do the tour as a foursome and were provided with 2 guides. Bob and Amso were just great!!! Always had an open eye for the animals & plants, were very responsive to the kids and helped with difficult passages without asking. There were ample breaks and lovingly carved strengthening. In the background Roni provided us with delicious lunch menus in the garnished banana leaf, camp dinner with various dishes by candlelight and the jungle toast by the river for breakfast - thanks for that! Even the rafting, which is the end of the tour, sounded far too dangerous in advance - but my 6 year old daughter said it should have taken longer! For the next day we planned a cooking class. This one, too, is an experience we don't want to miss! With the moto we went to the Tuc-Tuc, there we met Idja our cook. Together we went to the market to get the necessary ingredients for the desired menu. Cooking was done in their authentic home among rice fields and palm oil palm trees, eating was on the terrace and it tasted just delicious! We would have loved to stay longer! Bob and Amso - the children will never forget you!

  Truly wonderful experience ! We have spent two amazing days in the jungle with Irwan et Tamdbun. We saw a lot of orangutans, different species of monkeys and birds. They think about everything for you so you only have to focus on enjoying the jungle. The food we had during these two days was amazing. We can only recommend!

  I did the two-day trip. The service was fantastic. The company is easily accessible. They offer transport to and from the airport. I used that service and it was good. Despite the long journey, the cars are good and the drivers are friendly. After my jungle trip, I slept at another stay, but the organization still took me to that place for free. Then the tour itself: The guides were very friendly and experienced. You expect simple and bad food in the jungle, but the food was fantastic. Lunch was well taken care of and there was nice fresh fruit in between. The stay in the jungle was primitive, but that's part of the journey. The experience was fantastic. Dinner was fantastic because we got a whole rice table. We have seen many beautiful animals and plants, and the guides always knew how to tell us something informative.   We spent three wonderful days hiking in the jungle. The forest is magnificent, and we learned so much from our guide, Nico. Thanks to his expertise, we were able to see five different species of monkeys, and most importantly, we saw an orangutan with her baby. We also ate very well, tasted a wide variety of new fruits, and especially enjoyed the delicious dishes prepared by the best cook, Ali. On top of all that, the atmosphere was warm and fun thanks to Riyan. We had an unforgettable time and highly recommend this trek to all nature and animal lovers.   Had a great time! It was a challenging trek (even for the 2D1N for a couple in their 20s), but so rewarding and unique. The ability to see these animals and be in the jungle nature is incredible. There is no shortage of food, the guides were so warm and welcoming, and cannot recommend it enough for someone looking for an adventure and willing to withstand the humidity and steep terrain.

  We made the trip in 3 days and two nights: A timeless experience with Yahya and Irwan that we loved from start to finish! Everything is well thought out to enjoy moments in the jungle and see all types of monkeys. We saw the Orang Outan, Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkey and the long-tailed macaques! We can only recommend going through this agency because their ethics and organization is absolutely perfect to enjoy this adventure with respect for the jungle and its inhabitants 🙏

  I have just had the most incredible two days in the jungle with Sumatra Orangutan Explore. I have been researching this activity for a while and organised my whole trip to Indonesia around it. I chose this company because of the great reviews and I’m so pleased that I did. The whole experience was incredible from start to finish. The welcome drink and friendly faces were such a nice touch after a long travel day. I booked transfers and accommodation through the company. All of which were fantastic value for money. The first night I stayed in Rick’s Rooms which I loved. It is just a couple of minutes walk down to the main lodge but had a lovely rustic feel. I loved sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The accommodation at the main lodge where I stayed after my freak was also incredibly modern and comfortable. I would also recommend the meals in the restaurant. All cooked fresh and really tasty. The trek is physically difficult, but absolutely worth it. I cannot speak highly enough of the guides who took us out. Both Teddy and Desen were lifesavers for me. I wouldn’t have got through the tough sections without them. They work so hard, not only guiding the group, but organising snacks and meals throughout both days and do it all with such humility. They were full of such interesting information and I learnt so much from them. They take safety very seriously and even amended the route for me when I was finding it difficult. Whilst we were trekking, I saw other guides calling the animals which made me even more grateful to be with an ethical company where the guides treat nature with respect. A big thank you to Pian too who cooked us a delicious dinner and made our tubing experience super fun! Seeing the wildlife was an incredible experience, but also just hanging out with the guides and other guests on the trek made this trip truly wonderful. If you are thinking about booking this, absolutely do it you will not regret it.
