Ta Keo
Ta Keo was built as the state temple for Jayavarman V and he started construction in 975 AD. Unusually, the temple was never finished. There are many stories as to why Ta Keo was never completed, but nobody knows the real reason. Nowadays, Ta Keo is quite a popular temple with visitors because of its sheer size – five sanctuary towers sit on top of a 22m stepped pyramid.

We were looking for a customizable tour, and Angkor Doors is the place. From airport pick up, hotel transfer, to specific itinarary, they were able to make it happent the way we needed it to be. We only had 48 hours to spent in Siem Reap, so we wanted to see the most out of it, with our need. Driver and guide were great and always accomodating to our pace and idea. We really recommand.

We had an amazing 2 day private tour with Bunpheng. He was punctual and extremely professional. Full disclosure – I was on a tour with my Cambodian mom (it was my first time in Cambodia). I can understand Khmer fluently, but have some trouble speaking. We requested the tour in Cambodian, so I cannot say for certain how the English tour would be. However, I would ask questions in English when I couldn’t formulate my words and he replied easily in English, so I’m certain the English tour would be just as great. It was so special to go with such a detailed guide – he knew exactly what sites would wow, the history and lore of each location, and was extremely accommodating with my elderly mother when she needed breaks. He went out of his way to show us things we wanted to see, accommodated all our eating requests, and by the end of the two days I was so sad to end his company. He is hilarious too and would tell jokes and very easy to get along with. At the end of the trip, I finally asked him which temple site is his favorite and he painted to best picture for me. He said “I had a private tour with just one person and suddenly there was some heavy rain while at the Bayon temples in Angkor Thom. The crowds fled and I told my guest that we can go inside the tallest temple, knowing there would be shelter from the rain. So the two of us climbed to top and there was no one else. Looking out, we saw all the faces on the other temple tops looking at us. The rain turns the rock into a gorgeous vibrant green color and it was the most beautiful image - It was like a hundred faces smiling back at me, everywhere I looked. I would like to experience it again if I’m around during the rain” Those are the kind of stories and images you can expect to hear from him. It was my favorite story and told with such awe and humility. I hope you can experience the care of Bunpheng if you decide to book a temple tour.

We booked a 2 Day Angkor Temples Tour with Angkor Doors and we were glad that we did! Our tour guide Bunpheng and his driver were a perfect team. They arrived at our hotel a bit before time. Their vehicle (a minivan which has plenty of room for my wife and I) was almost new, very clean and comfortable. Bunpheng was a energetic guide, very knowledgeable about these temples and general history of the Khmer. He spoke English well, easy to understand. Our driver (I forgot his name!) was an excellent driver. We never felt unsafe with his driving during the tour. He always had the van in cool condition, had cold towers and chilled water bottles ready for us every time we got back from our temple visits. Even in November, it's still hot and humid in Siem Reap, you will need this kind of support to cool you down. For us, the 2 day Angkor Temples tour was just perfect to cover what we wanted to see. I don't think we could handle another temple day, very exhausted after 2 days. We hit every temples, sunrise, sunset in the itinerary. Without a private tour like this, there's no way that we could achieve this goal. I highly recommend Angkor Doors and their 2 Day Angkor Temples Tour. We also used their service for airport transfers and that was flawless as well. Q&G

Siem Reap A good guide at Anghor Wat, A fancy restaurant Chantey Tree A reach market 887348457 We had a nice experience in Siem Reap, a neat and clean little town, with lots of greenery and beautiful gardens full of flowers. A nice meeting was with our guide for Angkor Wat, the young English speaking Khat Sam called Jackson He was very helpful when we went to the sunrise and the great temple tour. He is a good connoisseur of the history of his country and of the Angkor Wat complex. He has a formidable memory for data and a lot of interesting stories of the bas-reliefs and sculptures. Very considerate with us and flexible in choosing which temples to visit.
