Charyn Canyon

The "Valley of Castles" of the Charyn Canyon is over 150 km, and its age is about 12 million years, according to the most conservative estimates of scientists. In ancient times, the unique gorge was the bottom of Lake Ili, which the river Charyn now reminds us of, which flows through the canyon. It is not inferior to the Grand Canyon in the United States, since there are sheer cliffs 150-300 m high and 200 m deep. During the season, its turbulent waters form a powerful current, life-threatening even for experienced swimmers. The canyons of Almaty are not the only attraction that the Charyn National Park can boast of. It is also worth noting here the Ash Grove in the Sarytogay tract - a UNESCO monument, which in antiquity competed only with the forests of the United States.

Lake Kaindy

Kaiyndy is translated from Kazakh as "birch grove". The reservoir got its name due to the abundance of birch trees, which, like silent guards, guard the passage in the gorge to its banks. When exactly Lake Kaindy arose, scientists are still arguing. Whether this happened in 1911, 1938 or 1978 is unknown, but the reason is indisputable: as a result of the earthquake, a collapse occurred that blocked the riverbed, flooding the valley with water. In the end, the whole forest was flooded. The bare tops of the fir trees now stick out gloomily from the surface. Meanwhile, small branches with needles are perfectly preserved under the turquoise surface, creating a surreal scene. Kaindy is not the most famous spot in the Kolsai reserve, but that is its charm: the mysterious world of the mountain lake is still untouched by too many tourists.

I cannot recommend Aidyn highly enough - he was a genuinely brilliant guide who was full of historical and cultural facts, went the extra mile on every occasion and made us feel safe at every point. He is passionate about Kazakhstan and shares his country with such pride - so excited to make sure you experience the best of it. We felt like we started the trip with a guide and finished with a friend!

I’d never thought that Kazakhstan is such a beautiful country till I actually visited. I had an amazing experience there thanks to Aidyn. He is a great guide with plenty of knowledge and professionalism. He helped me to explore Almaty and the surrounding areas with breathtaking landscapes and also learn about Kazakhstan. I truly thank him for making my vacation so special and unforgettable. I definitely recommend him as the professional guide when you visit Almaty!

The destination has been unheard of ! The locales unexplored...it is a kind of feast for nature lovers. Would rate Shimbyulak mountain resort higher than even a few resorts in Swiss. Lakes, mountains, rivers, forests ... the list is endless.. Recommended to go with the tour ..as they have complete knowledge and know how plus easy on pocket as well.. time management is key as prime areas of interest are far off from city centre

We'd wondered to Kolsai and Kaiyndy lakes with Aidyn. They are unusual places. I haven't seen such strange lakes before. It was great experience with local guide. He is very knowledgeable and interesting profesdional tour guide. I strongly recommend him.

We had a great time with Mr. Aidyn Akish, your tour operator who is very knowledgable about all places we visited including history and culture. All of my friends who visited Kazakhstan for the first time were deeply fascinated with diverse nature, cuisines, and hospitable people we met.
