Qechresh

Following a mountain sunrise and breakfast prepared with traditional methods, the second day transitions from Khinalug’s high-altitude stillness to the cultural and natural landscapes of Guba. The journey begins with a one-hour transfer from Khinalug to Qechresh Forest, a serene enclave of tall beech trees and shaded walking paths that define the region’s lush lowland terrain. This initial stop contrasts dramatically with the rocky elevation of the day before, underscoring the ecological range of northern Azerbaijan.

The itinerary continues with a visit to the Gedim Guba Carpet Weaving Center- an institution preserving centuries-old techniques passed down through female artisans. Here, travelers observe the craftsmanship, color theory and material detail that elevate Azerbaijani carpet making into a globally recognized art form. The on-site boutique provides access to authentic handmade pieces rarely available outside the region.

A short drive brings the group to the Guba Bazaar, where seasonal produce, handmade goods and everyday essentials reflect the rhythms of local life.
