We take a shared tourist bus to Copacabana. Once we arrive to Copacabana (at 12:00 a.m. approx.), we visit Copacabana Church (depending on bus arrival). Then we have lunch (delicious trout from the lake available).

We go by boat to the Sun Island where we will have a walk to see the Inca stairs and a fountain. (Optional walk to the best view point to see the sunset) Nice dinner and accommodation included.

Once we have breakfast, we start the walk to the Inca ruins. Then we get into the Inca temple where you will have a good explanation about the place. The boat will pick us up from the ruins and take us to Copacabana, where we will have lunch. Then, we will take the bus back to La Paz. Arrival at La Paz at the San Francisco square.

Lake Titicaca and the Island of Sun was one amazing tour we did in Bolivia. The place of the birth of the Inca Empire. We only did one day, but you can certainly do a 2-day tour and chose to stay at one of the Eco-friendly places on the island of sun. Kevin walked us through the historical sites of the islands and flooded us with lots of historical information about the Incas. This information was very useful when we visited Machu Picchu afterwards. We learned more about the Incas from Kevin in Bolivia then from our guide at Machu Picchu. Without Kevin passing along his knowledge, we would be completely lost at Machu Picchu. He went into details of the buildings structure and the traditions and meanings of sculptures. The Island of Sun is just mesmerizing and so worth the hike to the top. Kevin was very mindful of our acclimatization to the altitude, constantly checking on our wellbeing.
