We had an excellent experience with Beijing Sidecar Tours — John was fantastic and really made the trip memorable. On our first day, Sophia guided us through the Forbidden City and provided incredibly detailed history that brought everything to life. It never felt rushed, and she did a great job balancing information with time to explore. Afterward, she dropped us off for lunch where we met John and had Peking duck, which was amazing. From there, we did the hutong sidecar tour — it was both informative and an absolute blast. Easily one of the most fun and unique experiences of the trip. The following day at the Great Wall is honestly hard to put into words — it was fantastic, amazing, and a bit mind-blowing all at once. John was our guide that day, and he made a huge difference. He shared a ton of history, kept things engaging, and made the whole experience feel special and personal. We don’t think it would have been nearly as great with a different guide. Overall, everything was very well organized, smooth, and thoughtfully planned. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique, well-run way to experience Beijing.

Loved our sidecar tour with John - was an excellent way to start our trip. We arrived early so we put our bags into storage at the hotel and headed out. Was a brilliant introduction to a city I was surprised to find was very pretty, especially with all the blossoms in Spring. We felt safe at all times and got some great photos - mostly taken by John himself & sent to us later. Highly recommended! John also organised a driver to take us to the Mutianyu section of the wall by car. Our driver, Jason, was fantastic. Like John, he was very knowledgeable. His car was very comfortable - in fact a super nice car, better than we expected! We will be recommending John to anyone we know heading to Beijing, and when we return we will certainly be in touch with him and use his services again.

We did this experience on our very first day in Beijing, and it was honestly the best way to start the trip. It gave us a fun and relaxed introduction to the city and helped us get our bearings right away. The sidecars are comfortable and feel very safe, and the kids absolutely loved it — it felt like a real adventure! Our guide was fantastic: friendly, patient, and very attentive to the children, adapting the pace so everyone could enjoy. We rode through traditional hutongs, discovered hidden corners, and saw a more authentic side of Beijing that we wouldn’t have found on our own. It was both exciting and informative without being overwhelming after a long journey. Highly recommend this experience

A must do activity when in town. Communication was great before the planned date, and they were very patient and caring with my parents too. I was able to customize the pathway a bit to end up at a nice Pekin duck place. I also got extra perks and surprises throughout the trip (will not spoil it, you gotta book it to find out!) I loved the ride and it was so cool to do it in such a fantastic country.

My family and I recently enjoyed a sidecar ride through Beijing, and the experience was awesome. Our guide and driver John was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his city. We were picked up at 7pm. The route he took was perfectly curated, with charming, historic architecture of the Old Hutongs with the stunning, high-tech visuals of modern Beijing’s skyscrapers. Towards the end of tour, we had a rest stop by the roadside where John had packed tea and traditional Beijing desserts for us, which was a super cool surprise. I was so appreciative of the great care John took of my elderly parents (60+). He was highly attentive, constantly checking on them, ensuring they were warm enough, and even provided heat pads to keep them comfortable during the ridee. My father is over 6 feet tall, and the sidecar was surprisingly spaciouss. My dad fit comfortably the entire time. I was also grateful that John, along with another driver, provided careful assistance to help my dad get in and out of the sidecar safely, so that he didn’t trip. From start to finish, John took photos of the entire experience so we have those to keep. He also took videos with his 360 camera. I would definitely recommend John and this team to anyone wanting to see Beijing! PS: If you are going in winter, make sure to wrap up and dress extremely warm as the wind is strong!

John responded almost instantaneously to my query on the sidecar tour in Beijing. We concluded the package very quickly. The sidecar is a very good experience whereby Hu Tong in Beijing has space constraints and with sidecar, I can actually experience the very down to the earth kind of getting to know more of Beijing's uniquely historical background. John is also very attentive and will provide his fullest help whenever you require.

Upon booking a Sidecar Tour through Beijing’s hutongs, John was instantly communicative. The original day of booking, it was due to rain. John immediately informed me and offered alternative dates and times with no rain — so thoughtful! On the tour, John was awesome! Fun, adventurous, and full of knowledge about the both the city & the hutongs. He pointed out points of interests & made recommendations based on my interests. He took the time to take photos & shared videos taken during the ride. Riding through the hutongs in the sidecar was such a unique and exciting way to see some of Beijing. I will definitely be booking with John on my next trip to Beijing! This experience was a great way to see the many faces of Beijing. John took me through the Hutongs while lending an insight to life there. Then we went to see the modern side of Beijing as well as a few spots that were not even on the itinerary. John was very considerate, offering snacks, water, even a poncho when it started to drizzle. He also suggested several photo opportunities and took photos for me. I highly recommend this experience.
